I think your best bet is to wait for one of those chemist warehouse sales or high cashback opportunities

  • Hmmm, you may be right..

    thanks

So do we assume until it's on sale and you are able to claim cashback your children will suffer?

Firstly, wtf with the downvotes people? Blown away that i responded with basic a answer and it gets downvoted? Will keep that in mind for next time, maybe no response is warranted. In response to your "assumption". My children will never suffer from no medication but if my intention is to try and find cheaper method of sourcing this in bulk then yes it makes sense to do so.

I know right, do Ozbargainers not have stocked medicine cabinets with basic stuff like painkillers, antihistamines and bandaids that they bought on sale?
I agree with the above poster about Chemist Warehouse sales. They are a good time to stock up on basic essentials.

Please try to use the Reply button…

Also Ozbargain is not a shop. It is just people posting deals when they find them. How about you keep your own eyes out for deals on antihistamines and post it when you find one, to help everyone else.

Noted on the reply function, apologies

Logic behind this initial post is that a "public" post referencing the store on this post may potentially assist the Ozbargain users on the addition of this product to their deal offerings if they so wished to do so

Taking into account some of the responses I have received, I will ensure this isn't done in future.

Last time I jumped into one of these threads I got slammed into the penalty box faster than I could help someone - so I'm hesitant to add much to these threads.

      • This individual seems to be a bit "protective"

Maybe learn tio control your kids without the use of drugs?

    • Oh you mean old school with a belt? /s

      Allergies aren't behavioural…

  • Check out CW catalog for specials.

  • Considering we can't fly internationally, why would you want to buy this?

    • +5

      Antihistamines are for allergies etc…

      • And a sedative.

        • +2

Not all are, and even if they, its not strong….
And why would you immediately assume one would only need /want antihistamines for flights wtf

          • @Ughhh: Because a lot of parents sedate their children on long haul flights using OTC drugs such as Phenergan

            • +1

@BOGOF: A first gen pharmacist only drug?

Like your said, given you can't fly internationally, why would you immediately think its for flights rather than allergies.

Is like someone saying they need duct tape, and you immediately assume they're a serial killer.

              Interesting.

@Ughhh: It was a light-hearted comment intended to be taken in jest. However, I didn't allow for those who are looking to be offended.

                  @BOGOF: Sure sure.

No one is offended, just… puzzled.

Looks like a number of people who don't know what antihistamines are, but are making assumptions anyway. Lol

  • Try Chemist Warehouse

  • Chemist Warehouse.

A friend swears by below recipe for hay fever. To be effective, take it at least 3 months BEFORE hay fever season and during. My kid has hay fever but hated it, so I can’t tell you it worked on my kid…

    1tsp apple cider vinegar
    1tsp manuka honey (I used UMF 10+)
    1tsp lemon juice
Mix with warm water (to full up to 250mL)

Get your family a pill cutter and cut these in half.
~5mg per dose fine for little kids (10mg = 1 tablet)
    - They start to dissolve in your mouth, just have a sip of water with it
    - no sugar
    - tiny tablet (plus you cut in half)
    - cheapest you can get I believe $36.99 for 200 kid doses
    - not sure I made this clear - Cut in half & only take half
