I needed a new phone today and was happy to be able to purchase the A71 locally for a reasonably good price.

  I up vote you for not suck into CCP cheap handset dumpling!!

  This phone is missing N40 though, wont make any difference unless you are on Optus.

    What does that practically mean, regarding not having N40? I have had an A71 for the last few months and have bought a 365 day prepaid SIM with Catch Connect which is on the Optus network.
    *Have not inserted the SIM yet as am finishing off the Kogan plan.

      I dont think Catch sim will have 5G access anyway.

      Optus 5G utilise N40 and N78 to achieve what is call carrier aggregation. Combining these two bands together Optus should have the fastest 5G in Australia. They do the same thing in 4G with B28 and B40.

  5G model with 8GB RAM is $697 at Officeworks, 4G is $747 with 6GB RAM.
  Don't think they will price beat JB for the 5G model unfortunately and stock seems limited or nil.

    Haha I better delete this post before everyone catches on. I did a quick price comparison and was told they'd match it 😂 So yeah I got the lower spec model than the one I was price comparing but still got it cheaper!

  FYI - I purchased this phone from JB but price matched Amazon AU for $629.

  Wasn't sure if they would, but they did and said as long as it's not cheaper than what they get it for.
