Guinness - 2 X 6 Packs for $32 with Bonus New Shape Glasses

262

2 X 6 440ml Packs of Guinness Draught Cans for $32 at Woolworths Liquor

Their Normal Price is $39.98; Thus, a Saving of $7.98

Plus Bonus Gift: 2 Newly Launched Contoured Tulip Pint Glasses

Guinness has launched its new pint glass to the nation, specifically designed so you can enjoy the perfect pint of the black stuff. It’s the first change to the iconic tulip glass in 10 years.

The new glass is taller and slimmer and features shapely contoured recesses that mirrored the famous harp.

Considering that each new glass would set you back about $7-$10 if purchased separately, when taken together with the discount it's outstanding value.

I don't know how long will this promotion last.
So if you like your stout get them quick before they run out.

UPDATE : Confirmed that the deal has expired, so you won't get the discount but there is a chance that there may be some new glasses left over from the promotion in some local stores. If you're willing to pay the full price, ring around to see if they still have the free glasses.

    • 570ml?

    • Do tell more. :D

    • where can i get it at a slightly higher retail price?

    • The glasses are 570ml the cans are 440ml. u guess what happens?

The glasses aren't even worth $7-$10. They have seams on both sides, like it's 2 parts pressed together.

    Woolworths Liquor = BWS/Dan Murphys?

Dan Murphys web site says nothing about this and me & my friend-google have never heard of a store called Woolworths Liquor.

    • +2

woolworths liquor definitely exists as its own entity. theres one just down the road from me in findon

      • +3

yep, usually found next to a woolies

      • They mustn't exist in QLD? Searching on the woolies site for "Supermarket with Liquor" (I'm assuming this is Woolworths Liquor?) in Brisbane gives the nearest as Tweed Heads, NSW. Also, that might explain why I've never heard of them before :-D

        • +4

QLD laws are stricter about bottleshops and require hotel licenses to operate whereas other states have 'packaged' liquor licences for 'takeaway sales'.

With a hotel license in QLD you can claim up to 3 bottleshop licenses, all of which must be located within a 10km radius of the hotel.

        • BWS and Dan Murphy's are Woolies in QLD

    • lol

      Dear OP

I have researched this throughly on the internet machine, and have concluded the place you're referring too simply does not exist.

      • -1

        you haven't searched too well

Would my learned friend please examine exhibit A from a past case, er, I mean deal:

      • don't worry. I at least got your sarcasm!

quit trying to kick up a shitstorm. Woolies liquor exists, normally as a tack on to the supermarket the same way Coles Liquorland operates.

Watch it with the swearing! There are clearly kids around.

Would you prefer a poop typhoon?

        • That, sir, is a great band name.

      Woolworths Liquor = BWS/Dan Murphys?

I think they're part of the same group but have different pricing structures.
AFAIK at any given time they do not offer the same promotion across the different chains.

  • After some more research I've come to the conclusion Woolworths Liquor does NOT exist in QLD.

Nice deal though, was going to get my old man some Guinness for chrissy. Guess i'll be paying full price

    • do you have woolworths there? do they have a liquor store next to it?
I think in the past it used to be called Max Liquor before changing its name

      • Yeah we've got Woolworths in QLD but for some reason we don't have Woolworths Liquor.

        Try for yourself…
        http://www.woolworths.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/website/tools/s…

        and enter
        store type: "Supermarket with Liquor"
        postcode: 4000 (which is Brisbane)

The nearest shop is in Tweed heads, NSW.

We've got BWS and Dan Murphys everywhere though.

        • +1

See my above post. BWS and Dan Murphy's probably supply hotels who in return license nearby franchise bottleshops.

          From wikipedia:

Woolworths Liquor – A department of Woolworths supermarket stores. They are not located in Queensland and Tasmania, as State law there prohibits liquor sales at supermarkets. These stores were formerly known as "Mac's Liquor".

  • I think OP made up this flyer and he is also running the Woolworths Liquor near my house. I assume that it is an elaborate plan to get me to join Amway.

You can get a slab for $39.99 between Friday-Sunday at GWD. Even better take the coupon to DM or 1st choice for a price match. You can not beat this deal although you'll need yesterday's Heraldsun paper.

  • +1

Great deal - I don't drink it myself, but have passed it on to a few friends who do.

  • +1 NEG because I went to the Moonee Ponds store and the guy didn't know anything about this deal or have any stock.

    • I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that is an exception.
I'd suggest that others should ring up their nearest store to confirm before making the trip.

  • +1

I went to the store at Macquarie Centre in North Ryde, Sydney and they didn't have this price and there were no glasses. -1 from me sorry. I bought Kilkenny instead for the same price.

    • +1

Thanks for your post. At least you got Kilkenny at a discount.

I think I'd better mark this as 'Expired' just in case it wastes other people's time.

  • Went to Erina, NSW. They had some glasses left but no special price. Paid $39.98 and received a single glass - I mentioned that I thought I was supposed to get 2, and he grudgingly gave me another glass.

Happy enough to get the glasses but I wish I received the special price

    • :(

      urghhhh

I missed the promotional price and forgot that the promotion was 2 glasses so took one without asking any questions.

  • Could OP let us know which Woolies Liqour did you spot this offer?

    • Spotted them in Southland and Moorabbin,VIC

      • Thanks mate!

  • also none in Newmarket (VIC)
Phoned them and they had no idea.
This must just be in a few stores. Pitty-would have been ace
