      • Any suggestions for the equivalent ones?

Bunnings price matched already with the Montgomery 5 tier rack.

I have both the Aldi and Bunnings and I really just want to throw away the Aldi one and buy another Bunnings one.

      • They price matched

  • Is the surge protection any good on the the lead?

who's better Eko 65" at big W or this bauhn?

    • If you can still actually find the 65" EKO for $699…

      • Just wait for it to be on sale again.

    • EKO is very impressive.

    • Which Eko? The QLED version or the non-QLED?

  • same panel as the 58 inch Chik tvs from couple years ago?

    • No, they weren't "qled" back then. But it won't make much difference, if any, anyway.

  • Still the same old 'smart tv' from Aldi, best be avoided. Most newer TV's are Android and have way better image processing / scaling.

      The 58" TV is android.

I see that now, lol. All TV's look the same from the outside, just a rectangle with feet. It could be decent then.

  • 32" Android TV is $249 at Officeworks + FREE delivery.

  • Any feedback about Bauhn-branded powerboards - yay or nay?

I like the idea of powerboards with proper USB-C PD, but not sure if I should pull the trigger and replace all our existing powerboards to get this

  • I bought this same 58" TV from Aldi in September last year for $579 (in fact I bought 2, one for my sister) Been very happy with it. Use it as my bedroom TV.

    • I don't think that one was QLED though?

      • You're correct. My Model: ATV58UHDG-0920 This Model: ATV58UHDG-0121 Same resolution but not QLED.

      • So QLED is better that UHD?

I'm getting pretty confused with all this TV terminology these days.

        • UHD/4K is the resolution. QLED is the technology. But the QLED used with these cheap TVs doesn't make an overall difference to normal LED TVs. It's mainly just for marketing. Like HDR (with these cheap TVs)

            • @placard: First one is non-Android and non-qled. Where as the second one is both.

This one is Android and non-qled and goes down to $649 from time to time. I actually find this model better than the QLED frameless model in some ways, got it for $559 on boxing day '19

              • @CVonC: in what ways is the android non-qled better than the frameless?

would you mind elaborating as I'm considering either one but can't tell much difference.

                • +1

@ichimoku: My mate's QLED has very noticeable corner vignetting compared to my non-QLED, picture quality in all other aspects is pretty much the same. QLED seems to have more fine tuning colour adjustments though. Non-QLED also has better sound from the speakers as it has bass/treble adjustments (along with equaliser), It's surprisingly good and I don't think a soundbar is necessary. QLED is lacking the bass/treble and only has the equaliser. The "frameless" frame on the QLED model isn't significantly or noticeably thinner than the non-QLED model. QLED's remote is smaller and has a channel recall button which the non-QLED model lacks. I tried using the QLED remote on my non-QLED TV but the channel recall button doesn't work lol.

  • Just came in to say DO NOT buy the ALDI batteries, the blue ones mainly.
Have had many electronic items die from leaks from these batteries.
    FU ALDI batteries

  • Anybody know the capacity of the $29.99 steam cleaner? The $25 Kmart one is only 250mL.

    • To answer my own question, it's the same capacity as the cheaper Kmart one. But has triple the warranty and comes in either blue or white.

      • Are they any good at cleaning your grouts?
A more expensive but fully portable would be every handy as the power cable might get in the way when cleaning.

  • Is the power board worth getting? Any comments?

    • It is rated at 175J only, which is just rubbish.
The Belkin ones go up to 650J.

      • Thanks for replying. Can you please explain what you mean? Also where did you find the rating?

  • got this tv today and so far so good. Android runs quite buttersmooth on it and the panel has deep blacks and a pleasure to view
