OnePlus 8T from Kogan

Hi all. I was about to pull the trigger on a OP8T from Kogan for about $850 but I realised it's from a third party seller, whereas it's $300 more to buy as a direct import from Kogan. I'm a bit weary that I might end up with a refurb. Does anyone have any experience here?

I bought my current OP6 from Kogan no worries but that was before they opened up the marketplace.

I also noticed that when you filter the search for condition - new, it excludes all marketplace sellers.

7T for $550 was a much better deal if you want brand new for a good price and can't afford the 8T.

    • The same thing also applies for that one - theres a $300 premium on the direct logan version

      • Why do you need it from Kogan?

        • You can't buy it locally. I've bought imports from kogan before and been happy but have had mixed experiences with shady chinese sites.

          • @Milestron: becextech also 850 for 12/256

            • @follow: Yeah I saw that. Any idea about their reputation?

              • @Milestron: same as any grey import, you will mostly only have the 6 month term with PayPal. after that, you are at their mercy.
with the amount of money being spent, you are better off with s20 fe 5g from Officeworks for $800 with price beating Catch. at least you have peace of mind 2 years

@follow: Thanks yeah I'm not a fan of samsung but might consider pixel 4a 5g if I end up buying local

                  • @Milestron: or try AliExpress looks to be even cheaper

                    • @follow: Lol hell no

                      • @Milestron: 😂 it is the offical store… probs where the importers are getting their stock

                        • @follow: Ah ok I didn't realise they sold directly through there. I'll consider that as well, although I suppose that will forfeit an australian warranty. I will probably go for an australian site for the price difference. I'll see how 88mph goes with mymobile.

@Milestron: If you are buying from aliexpress be sure to buy using PayPal so you have the free return offer thing

Op, I bought a OnePlus 8T 12/256GB CN from mymobile.com.au last week via sale advertised on this site… still being shipped from HK apparently, expected mid next week hopefully.

Tax invoice to be provided with phone, which I need.

p.s it was $872 when I bought it, down to $850 now. Spoke to the online store guy (Shane) he was happy to throw in some free accessories or a partial refund of difference. I said I'll decide after the phone arrives, so far they seem to care about customer service. I'll update this thread on my full experience after I receive it…

    • Legend, that would be great. The kogan one was 8/128 so the mymobile is a better deal, so long as there's no issues
