    Me: 25th anniversary of pokemon

Also me looking like Robin Williams in Jumunji: good lord its been 25 years since pokemon?????
    WHAT YEAR IS IT?????!!

    • +15

      I miss Robin Williams :(

    • +1

I still feel like I haven't aged a day since I was 25 years younger. Arrested development maybe. I don't play Pokemon anymore, but I still remember the appeal. I'll be playing this new Snap though.

      • Exactly the same. Stopped mentally ageing at 25.

  • Tempting, very tempting.

  • +8

I can't believe I'm way more interesting in snap 2 than sword and shield.

    • +1

      I dont blame you.

The main POkemon formula tends to get bit reptitive no matter how much they tweak it.

Sword/Shield is a pure crap, but Snap will be too. Fun for 5 hrs and that's it.

  • +4

I’ve been waiting for this since I was a child! So much more exciting than Sword & Shield.

  • Wasn't there Pokemon games released before where you took photos of Pokemon? On 3ds

    • Pokémon Dream Radar which was more of an Augmented Reality Game.

    • +1

There were features in the mainline games to take photos of your Pokemon but that was a side feature and was not at all optimised.

    • +1

      We had snap on N64

    POKEMON SNAP!!!! OMG!!!!

MAN I MISS POKEMON SNAP 64!!!!!

  • Can't tell if I want this. I loved pokemon snap n64 so much as a kid, but I also would've used up my one wish back then to have a pokemon in real life. Should I trust the taste of my insane younger self? Lmao

  • Take pictures of 14 of the newest Pokémon species !

So a few more than there were in Sword and Shield?

Good deal but seems a bit more expensive than new Switch releases usually are on Amazon. This price might come down to $60 before release.

    • +3

Pre-order Price Guarantee! Order now and if the Amazon.com.au price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Offered by Amazon AU

    • +1

Not really, this is the standard Amazon price for new high profile games. Sometimes (not common) a competitor may have a cheaper price which Amazon will match but that's covered by the preorder guarantee anyway.

      • It's often at Target/Big W for $67/$68 on release, but no preorder.

  • +1

preordered. amazon price guarantee for preorders is great. only downside to amazon is sometimes they miss launch day :(

  • really cool. i haven't played pokemon since Platinum so I think I have a lot of catching up to do!

  • -4

So… this is like a stalker game but stalking & sneaking in pics of em beasties instead of the opposing sex?

  • Explore lush scenery… / Seek out and take in-game photographs…

I must be massively missing the point here, but how would this not get boring after ~20mins? I'm not a huge pokemon person, although I'll play Go a few times a week.

    • +2

Because nostalgia is trap. Snap on the N64 was a fantastic title.

  • +1

I played the original snap back in 1999 when I was 18.

This year I will be playing this New Pokémon snap 21 years later at age 39.

I can't wait for the New Pokemon snap sequel to come out 21 years later when I'm 60 years old.

  • Is this really a deal? You can regularly get new release Switch games for $68/$69.
