Not sure whether to go for the Sony (KDL40CX520)40 inch from JB or the Samsung (LA40D550). Both are same price and both have seemingly identical specs.
What you guys think?
Open to suggestions of other TV's, especially plasmas, at this price point and screen size, and preferably Sony or Samsung and maybe Panasonic if it's plasma (I hear they are ok?).
Don't buy based on specs, go into some shops & look at them side-by-side to see what you like first!
We love our 50 inch Panasonic Viera plasma. We also love our smaller Panasonic LCD. Both of them are excellent - colour, performance, quality.
We looked at the other brands but didn't like the look of them.
Cartainly wouldn't go near an LG - iniitally had one and had nothing but trouble.
However, since we have had ours for ages, I can't point you in the direction of any bargains.

In contrast we have a Panasonic Viera plasma 42" with lines down one side and the picture has never been sharp. I would never buy another Panasonic TV again.
We also have a LG 42" LCD for 3 years and it is brilliant.. love it!!

Thanks for the advice guys. Ended up going into Bing Lee and saw that the Sony was on special for 500! The guy said they didn't have many left, so I decided to just bite the bullet and bought it. The display model looked pretty good.
I was pretty chuffed that I got it 100 dollars cheaper than what JB were selling it for. Worthy of an ozbargain post??

I got a 42 inch lg smart tv led for $699 a few months ago. You might get good deal using Myer gift card and 10 dollars off every 75 dollar offer. The total price would be pretty good.
