    I confirm this stand with scratch proof silicon pad on the holder hook, since it is soft transparent quality, so on the photo it is not clear visible.
    Further more, it with 4pcs anti-slip silicon mat under the bottom

        Not at the back though - if anyone wants to avoid scratches, put some clear tape or contact on the bit that touches the back of the tablet.

    I just bought one of these but Omoton branded (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B086TX4BDW?psc=1&ref=ppx_p…) which have silicon pads for soft, stable contact and anti-scratch.

    This Simpeak one appears to be the same but I can't make out the silicon pads. It looks the exact same unit, so presumably has the same manufacturer, so surprised one would have these pads and another wouldn't.

    Anyway, they are great units! Weighty and stable, and quality production. The adjustable arm is perfect if you will use a charger or dongle to get underneath the phone and/or adjust position of display perfectly on your desktop.

    My use case is to connect for hands-free to a headset with mic (OTG and dongle connected under phone, which is long, but adequate clearance) to run through calls in my home office and allow me to type, etc. Perfect!

    Now I just want something of similar quality but without the height and adjustment; just a low lying one to prop up in the kitchen or bathroom for streaming video. I'd love recommendations??

        Oh, I see. These units have a second hinge at the base.

        Others might preference that for their use case.

        I wanted a permenant desktop stand. And I prefer the aesthetic of the Omoton base without the hinge and fenestrations.

  Very useful stand, but this is a bit pricey. You can get this one on eBay for $7.92 if you don't mind the wait.

    April 8 delivery. Like you said, okay if the wait is fine by the buyer. I paid $18 on Amazon just so I had the thing the next day (business use), and because I really wanted the black one (the silver one was discounted). Really great unit - a lot of these things look cheaply made and flimsy, so happy to pay for a good one.

    I admit what you recommend is a cheap good product, thanks! But I noted it can not be folded into small volume, it is ok for home using, but not a good idea for outdoor / travel using.
