Walter Turnbull Scam

Just putting it out there to advise people that are unfamiliar with selling their car to be aware of a Walter Turnbull working in a bad phone reception area in NT agrees to pay the full price of the car (red flag) without inspection, I’ve had lots of these over the years and normally they go away when I ask for photo ID front and back of drivers licence, however these scammers have actually got a Walter Turnbulls NT drivers licence I have a copy that I will be providing to the police probably a waste of everyone’s time

Report it. Move on with life.

  • Wonder if the original Walter Turnbull actually does work for the air force.

Same scam as all the others. Just the details change a bit. Working on oil platform, FIFO, overseas. Different names. Offer to pay full price sight unseen no questions, then ask you to pay for ‘freight’ for their ‘agent’ and offer to pay you extra to cover it. You don’t get the money or you do but it gets reversed somehow, and you are out of pocket for the ‘freight’

I wonder if the real Walter Turnbull fell for this scam and maybe that's how they got his licence?

  • Walter has turned up again..gave him details before finding this forum…getting more texts from I assume bogus phone numbers for email contact too…3 other names Joshua Bucholz and William Grow…will close account tomorrow but interested to know from anyone ..how does the scam end, have they gotten more than freight costs in the past???

Anyway 3 names to look out for….they seem to have a limited number of ids they reuse for some reason…

    • The scam ends up with you out of pocket and them with your money.
