  It's SATA only (so not NVMe). Not only that, it is USB 3.0 only. There are so many USB 3.0 chipsets, with majority of them not that great. Would TRIM over USB work? Even UASP support is not guaranteed. The cable is short. At this price, there is chipset lottery.

  JMS583… out of the 3 USB 3.1 gen 2 chipsets, JMS583 based enclosures tend to be the cheapest. Also, with JMS583, you do want the latest firmware.
