        already sitting…fell off chair

I would still rather have a few 128gb sd's over one 1tb to avoid any unfortunate data loss. And if you need that much data, with large video files sizes and high fps, you're probably better off with v60.

    • Exactly what I was thinking. It becomes a single point of failure. Better off with multiple cards, and then backing the data up in a couple of places.

Imagine working on a project and 500gb later all your footage is lost…

Having had so many Sandisk flash based products fail I can't condone them.
On the plus side all the SD / microSD failures have been hard write locks, so at least some level of protection is working and not data was lost.
On the downside, the failure rate has been absurd, and over a variety of gear, so can't blame anything in particular.
Sandisk were once flash giants, and after some changing of hands and shuffling they are not who they once were.
Neg away, go ahead with the comments.
Just because yours works (for now) doesn't mean my issue is invalid.
And just getting ahead of the clowns saying i can't neg for this reason, Negative votes are valid for "Issue with product"

Never had these problems but it is a valid reason to neg vote. Where were you buying your Sandisk flash storage from? I'm assuming you weren't buying fakes. Sandisk tends to have pretty good warranty so you should have been able to get a replacement.

      • Apologies if brief, have answered these questions in the past.
        Cards were all legit
Warranty does not guarantee durability or prevent failure, only replaces the product after the fact.
Issues were with cards bought at Ted's, Office Works and JB HiFi.
All issues were with SD and micro SD cards, also one instance was a thumb drive, ,but being only 1… i'd call that isolated.
Never had a Sandisk CF card fail, that said have not bought one for years, good news i guess?
Devices were DSLR camers, regular cameras, action cameras and mobile phones (Samsung specifically).

I've moved to Samsung cards, but have lost confidence in brands in general, that said they've not failed me yet.
Would like to try Lexar, but they're kinda defunct and were hard to source locally, they had some SD cards based on MLC in good capacities that reviewed well.

The most annoying thing is aside from the uSD cards daily driven in mobile phones that just stored media, none of the cards got used heavily (no pro photography etc).
Makes it all the more concerning.

  • I'm honestly not sure who this card is for, it doesn't seem to be the optimal option for anyone. Those who need space for their phone/Switch use a micro SD card. Serious photographers who are likely going to want this kind of space are probably going to want to use a smaller sized UHS-II card and then back it up to an SSD.
