Hisense 65" Q7/Q8 vs TCL 65" C815

Hi everyone!

Quick question on peoples thoughts on the Q7 vs the C815. I've had a quick look through them and it appears they share similar specs except that:

Q7:
- FALD
- appears to have greater peak brightness.

C815
- Has onkyo sound bar
- Android TV (q7 uses VIDAA 4)

I do like how the C815 has a soundbar and android TV built in, but those can be bought separately so would rather focus on TV picture quality (which can't really be upgraded easily). I have access to TGGC.

Does anyone have any opinion/thoughts between the two? Or other TVs I should be looking at in this price range? I went and looked at them on the weekend, but it is hard to ascertain given that they were quite far apart and playing different content.

Bonus note - the Q8 also seems a step above, but budget looking around $1300-$1500 (C815 only slips in because it has the sound bar integrated).

I'm also in the same boat as you, looking to upgrade shortly and both of these are currently on my "watch list"

Although I haven't purchased yet (waiting to see if prices drop when 2021 models release), I think that FALD and brightness > OS and soundbar.

Vidaa 4 from what I've heard isn't nearly as bad as previous versions, and Chromecast with Google TV is always an option.

    • From what I heard 2021 models are going to be released April? I read the same as what you said that FALD + brightness > OS and soundbar especially since you can always buy those yourself. I just wonder if the difference in quality is really that big between the two TV's.

  • From what I've read, the Q8 is miles better than the Q7.
