  • I have one. Not very reliable at higher temps. Probes aren't the best.

I was wondering about getting one for a Weber Q, but it sounds like this one won't be suitable given your comment.

FWIW I have one of these and used it for the first time with my Weber Q last week at temps around 220°C+ (or so it was telling me) - seems fairly consistent with the typical temps I was previously reading using two other thermometers, so had no reason to think it would be off. The probes are supposed to be good for continuous monitoring up to 250°C, which is why I got them for the Q (to replace my previous cheapie which died after a few uses - don't think it was rated for as high temp ranges).

Had one probe measuring inside the BBQ and another in the chicken I was roasting - the chicken preset (74°C) came out pretty perfect IMO.

  • I have one as well. In less than one year's time the black insulation bit on the probdes all already chipped and fallen apart.

    • Aren’t you supposed to remove the black tip before use? Or you mean the corner part?

      • +1

        yeah, the corner part

        • I think if anyone buys this they should just cut that plastic bit off, really shouldn't be any plastic parts in the bbq.

  • Yeah I had one and couldn't get connected on multiple phones. Ended up binning it waiting for a better solution.

  • I got one, Solid for me and connected easily. Mine fell in a spit and the whole back melted. However still works!

  • I've got one. A serviceable unit. My main complaint is that it's extremely light, and with no suction cup or securing mechanism its hard to keep the main unit sitting on the bench or BBQ side table as the slightest movement of the probe wires causes it to move/fall.
