Why is it on “wpengine.com” domain?

Looks dodgy as for a company that wants my credit card details…

    • Agreed. You can get a new .com domain for USD0.99

      Hi there,

WP Engine is a Wordpress Hosting Platform. It helps Wordpress sites with site speed.

      Hope this helps

      • Lame explanation,

        No help.

    $2 per month
    1.5% load fee
Some banks class it as cash advance if funded by cc

How convenient that OP didn’t include any of that in the description. 🤔🤔🤔

So, technically 'free' to get, but far from free to use.

This card charges 1.5% of all spend plus monthly account keeping fees and inactivity fees! Hardly a bargain. Ozbargainers prefer either zero fee cards or cards with financial benefits in terms of points/rewards > costs. We'd be better off giving kids a supplementary card on a fee free credit card account. Or set up a fee free savings account with a debit card for pocket money… No fees, kid gets to keep all their money rather than give it to ZAAP.

    Hi there,

ZAAP has a 1.5% fee charged on the parent load (the amount parents load onto their parent wallet ie not transfers to the child’s account), however ZAAP allows parents to load via a debit and credit card rather than a bank account and also ensures an almost instant (<45 mins) transfer to their parent wallet. These 2 benefits are highly valued by parents.

This fee is to cover the cost of credit / debit card acceptance and is a very low cost ie if $50 is transferred to a parent wallet, they are charged 75 cents.

gomango's "fee free savings account with a debit card" suggestion is both faster and cheaper than this offering and also doesn't necessitate the inclusion of a entity other than their existing bank.

There are many options out there however, it is much more difficult to get a Debit Card and Savings Account. Children need to be over 14 and provide a birth certificate or passport and complete a 100 point check and complete lengthy forms. With ZAAP there is a quick and simple sign-up process.

ZAAP also goes further than a savings account in providing a tool for parents to teach children good spending and saving habits in a safe and controlled environment. Children can view their balance and transactions and set and track multiple savings goals and the app features reinforces positive behaviours. Parents also have full visibility of their child's transactions for peace of mind.

With ZAAP there is a quick and simple sign-up process, plus there's no minimum age for children*.

        • What does the " * " represent?

          • @GG57: Apologies the asterix means that there is no minimum age for children.

    • Some helpful feedback for you -

1 - You can host front end website for free with worldwide replication and ultra fast load times under your own domain so you are not stuck on wp engine which looks unprofessional and unsafe.

You can also forward a domain to your wp engine URL probably with Masking too but if you use the above method you don't need masking at all you can connect your domain.

If your integrations are all cloud based and you don't need to run your own database or peform any DB transactions on your end then the first option is the way to go.

Look at vercel.app as an example. I have 2 websites hosted on this and they are blistering fast and free.

2 - If you are trying to generate a customer base you should make an offering of no load fee for the first load (fee free). Swallow the % which you yourself have said is as little as 75c per $50. Even if you generate a customer base of 100 customers at $100 each that's $1.50 per customer - an extremely small price to pay as a promotional call to action to achieve a large customer base.

Think about how much marketing you would have to do to get 100 customers - some businesses pay thousands just to get the click through rate.

Why need $10 to close account? Sorry OP this is not a bargain since there are so many fees involved.

    • The $10 closure cost is to cover admin fees of closing the account and any cards, wearables and keeper that the account is linked too. Most of our customers i.e parents have 2 children and both children have a physical Mastercard plus wearable.

Laurenj - dreaming if you think what little you have to offer is more enticing than the fees

  • Thanks bought 10. now I'm trapped for more than $100

  • First you don't mention all the extra fees, and now there's a further $10 fee to close the account?

All these deliberate omisions does not bode well for you or your company. No way me or anyone I know will even consider you guys.

Although if you've had to open a kids account with any of the big 4….you'd probably appreciate the convenience of this product… even though it is fairly rudimentary.

  • I just got all my kids an NAB card (my youngest was 7). I transfer money in via PayID when needed (from my UP account) and they can only use it to tap-and-pay, they can't use it to buy anything on the internet. Also, this is free.
