Free Delivery Please, then we have a bargain.

    • Powerboards like this sell for over $100 and there is nothing out there at the moment with all these features at this price. USB Ports, Lan Protection, Individual switches on each plug and much more.

      • Except the Bosstons on Catch right now…

Beware of quality issues with plastic case (thin and flexes) and power sockets (stiff and damage the board). Last deal's consensus is that it is not worth RRP $149.

    • Agreed there are better quality boards available for around the same price, the only benefit this board offers is USB charging.

I have several of these boards and they are much better quality and has higher ratings http://www.oo.com.au/Power_Surge_Protector_Board_-__P83829.c…

      • We also have the same board we have listed for a few dollars less than them and ours is foxtel approved as foxtel checked it out and put their seal of approval on it after it passed all their electrical standards. http://www.esold.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id…

Check it out, but these do not have individual switches or usb

        • Yep that's the same one, it's sold under several brand names but they are all the same.

  • 99% of our feedback was great. there were a few boards, less than 5 out of a few thousand sold that apparently had a stiff socket but the quality of the board is great. we replaced just a few items that were like that. I am using one myself and the plastic case is sturdy and the quality great. :)

    • hmmm add one more to the 5….mine had a few sockets which were incredibly stiff I had to force the power plugs in, i thought I might break the case….this happened with my other arista powerboard, but couldn't be bothered chasing up COTD.

what's the procedure for a replacement? more trouble than it's worth?? I've thrown out the original packaging…

{edit:} For all details regarding Faulty and/or Damaged items, including our Returns Process, please read our Terms and Conditions Policy; found "here" . We are committed to providing a high level of Customer Service and will respond promptly to any enquiry made regarding the above.

if you click on the link it just returns you to the homepage…

      • Contact Arista direct if COTD are not helping you.

        • handlebert you misunderstood me. I bought the powerboard off YOU guys. I bought my last one from COTD and had the same problem as you guys. Clearly there's issues with these products you're selling but you seem happy to pass off complaints like nothing's wrong. I dont think it's good enough for businesses like yours to just push people off to Arista when you're here touting these to be the best products out there.

I bought one of these last time it was on 23rd November this year, and I found that some of sockets are stiff and very difficult to plug cables into them.

I though this was normal for this board.

    Is this covered by warranty?

    • +3

Re warranty: No, if the sockets are stiff but functional. Yes, if yours blew up like mine did.

Also, Arista has confirmed with me that there is no connected equipment warranty. The exact quote is "If it is not printed on the box, then there is none. If you want connected equipment warranty, then go buy Belkin for hundreds of dollars, and not a cheap one like ours."

It does not inspire confidence, does it?

    • We are not passing off any complaints and all you have to do is send the item back to us for warranty as everyone else does. :) Please contact us through our support on our site and it will be replaced under warranty

      • +1

This has not been my experience. Your support team wrote:

Sorry to hear there is an issue with an item you have purchased from us - don't worry though you are covered by our warranty and support 100%.

We have sold thousands of those powerboards without any issues and it seems you have been very unlucky to get a faulty one as this is our first.

Please call Arista on: 1300 852 174 and they will organise a replacement immediately. Please let us know if you require any further assistance

Me calling Arista to organise a replacement does not equal eSold warranty and support.

        • You were then replied to and told to send back to us if you prefered, i checked our records. Not sure why this is being brought up here as we have always honoured all warranties and if you sent yours back it would be replaced immediately. Not sure how a manufacturters direct warranty such as Acer, Sony, Philips etc constitutes as bad service, especially when we also offer to take it back and replace it ourselves if more convenient. We have never had a warranty we did not replace so this is utter rubbish.. just send it back and get it replaced please as we are here to take care of you

        • I do not want to continue this argument with you, handelbert, but what you wrote

You were then replied to and told to send back to us if you prefered, i checked our records.

          is false.

I have also checked my records and my quotation of the e-mail from your support team is all that I received from eSold. Never was I given the option of sending the faulty unit back to eSold.

I am now dealing with Arista directly, so let us agree to disagree and end it here. You reckon eSold has stood by me and I have been unfairly harsh on eSold. I reckon eSold has not done its part to solve my problem.

        • One more thing. See contact us-> Current Affair video. The person said, in case of any problem you can email or call them.
But there is no phone no. on their site or direct address to contact them.
I hope they are not next COTD.

I suggest you start taking some of these complaints seriously handlebert. there's a vocal minority already with the same problems.

it's a crap deal to just tell your customers to ship it back to you at our own cost or just handing over responsibility to Arista.

If you could show some good will this time that would be appreciated, otherwise I doubt you'll get good responses for further posts.

  • Please call: 1300 852 174 and they will provide you with warranty support. How stiff are the sockets as sometimes new boards can have slightly stiff sockets.

    • I needed to force the power plugs in different angles so they can go in as if the casing and internals don't line up properly.

It didn't feel like a well built product to me, but maybe i just got a bad batch.

  • the one in the picture is the crest one. They have insurance and life time warranty. I dont think they are from the same manuf. company. I have crest board and it is quite smooth, not stiff and very good plastic.

    Rep,
Are you sure crest and these are made with same quality?

  • Here comes the competition. Huntkey (Crest lookalike) non-switched 8-port powerboard, RJ11 phone, F-socket TV, $24.95 with free shipping, US $1 million connected equipment insurance.

I bought an Arista 8 port powerboard from Selby Acoustics and it's been fine.
I haven't had any problems with it (will let you know when there's a power surge). I wouldn't go as far to say it's a great board because to me, it's just a powerboard, but I haven't encountered any of the problems mentioned in this thread.

  • Hey all, I'm thinking of starting a sister site called www.tightass.com.au - the motto is "You get what you pay for - don't complain" LOL - Spoke to a China guy today, he said "You pay crap for Chinese products, you get crap" Is anybody willing to pay for a Chinese product the same that they would pay for a German product? Well they might get something decent then, if not, then umm… you won't…

  • as per my comment on the previous deal…. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57733#comment-684503

I'm not convinced the ones I received were new…. I suspect refurb or returns.

    For info…

You must tell us by email message to [email protected] or by letter to our land address at the top of this agreement, that you would like to return Goods, specifying exactly what Goods, when purchased, the Transaction Number, and giving full details of the damage, defect, fault, or other reason for return. We will then issue a returns note and it is then your responsibility to ship the item back to us at your cost.
We will refund the cost of return freight only, at standard Australia Post Rates if the item is a DOA dead on arrival. Return freight, just like the cost and time of driving to a store is the responsibility of the purchaser and will only be refunded at our discretion if the item is a faulty item on arrival or such special circumstances.

"Speak to Arista" is garbage, the item was not bought from Arista. This company seems to have forgotten the ruling against Mwave in 2010….

"Online traders should be aware that the ACCC reviews sites regularly and will consider action where remedial work is not quickly undertaken," ACCC chairman Graeme Samuel warned today.
"Consumers have the same rights online as if they were to walk into a store. Basically, they can expect that a product would have a level of quality and performance that would be reasonable to expect, do what it is meant to do and match its description."
The ACCC was concerned about statements to the effect that:
    Mwave does not provide any warranty and consumers must deal directly with the manufacturer;
warranties arising from statute do not apply; and
the consumer is required to pay any shipping costs incurred in returning the faulty good to Mwave.
If it is necessary to return faulty goods to the place of purchase, the ACCC considers it reasonable for the seller to pay appropriate freight costs.

I wouldn't touch this mob again with a ten foot pole ….

    • Not sure how a manufacturers direct warranty such as Acer, Sony, Philips etc have constitutes as bad service, especially when we also offer to take it back and replace it ourselves if more convenient so you choose which way you prefer. We have never had a warranty we did not replace so this is utter rubbish.. just send it back and get it replaced please as we are here to take care of you. Everything we sell is brand new and as with every item mass produced there will be a small failure rate which we replace or the manufacturer replaces.. simple

    • We provide warranties direct to our customers always and if there is a manufacturer direct warranty which can be quicker in some cases as they have local offices in some areas than the customer has a choice of using that or sending back to us. We have never had a warranty we did not sort out.. Customer service is our number 1 priority.
