Been thinking about getting a new Power Bank, but I won't buy one from Banggood as I have bad experience dealing with Banggood. Awhile back I bought an automatic soap dispenser, it worked for less than three days and then failed. I went back to Banggood to get some help. But they took forward to reply (I think it was because of CNY). Anyway, they refused to give me a replacement or refund. After several emails back and forth, they decided to offer me a partial refund. The item was $30-40 or something. I think they offered me $5 refund initially. Naturally I refused. They then increased the amount, but from what I can remember it was not even half the price I paid. I refused again. I told them either a replacement or full refund. They then offered me the same amount plus some Banggood points. That's when I told them to go jump. I had to go through PayPal to get my money back. So never again. It just leave a bad taste in the mouth. Banggood does not deserve my hard earned cash.

  • No option to ship from AU…

    • Yes there is!
"add to cart" on mobile or shows on desktop - select au. Free 3-7d shipping.

  • $17.49 USD now?

    • That price includes shipping insurance.

  • Price has dropped 6c since Deal posted🎉
    Price is now AU$22.65

  • FYI if you pay in USD it should be cheaper than using their crappy exchange rate. and also turn off shipping insurance in the checkout page

    • Price for this Deal assumes you turn off insurance. (Keeps turning back on for me)

      Payment in us$16.99 = au$23.13 (saves 52c)
(Current XE exchange rate - if you have fee free foreign exchange conversion)

      • yep gotta do it at checkout that seemed to work for me

  • I bought one of these (from the Aus warehouse) and did some capacity testing using a PD trigger and adjustable load.

Discharging at 18W (12v, 1.5A), I got 78% of the rated capacity. So 28.8 Wh out of the total 37 Wh, or 7800 mAh of the 10,000 mAh.
Here's a pic of the result and my messy desk.

The 'missing' capacity is lost as inefficiencies in the power bank electronics, combined with whatever the raw battery capacity truly is.

78% is on the low end for efficiency, but similar to other affordable brands and by no means an issue.

I paid $22.44, which is $0.78 per Wh for the actual capacity. That's excellent, and better value for money than most 20k power banks (larger is usually better bang for buck).

Overall, the BW-P12 is excellent for the price. It happily outputted all the voltages listed via PD and QC, and also fast charge.
It's quite light, I like the digital capacity display, and it has a micro USB charging port as a backup.

Things I don't like. (None of these affect it being a decent little cheap power bank for most uses.)

It only comes with a micro USB cable, not USB-C. But hey, it was also only $22.44 and I have cables.
It only does pass through charging in some circumstances. Once again, no issue for most people, but it's something I like, and test.
If charging via Micro USB, then the (normal) USB ports happily output 5V at 2A (10W). USB-C won't output anything when charging via Micro USB.
If charging via USB-C, the (normal) USB won't output anything.
So you can do (slow) pass through charging, but only at 5V. This made me sad, because I had a project that could have done with PD 12v output, while charging from 5v Micro USB.

  • Thanks this is very timely as I'm starting some research into a new 10k powerbank right now. Currently I'm considering all of the following so any intel you have would be greatly appreciated:

    Open to other options also

    • I ended up getting the Charmast mini and so far very pleased - super fast, very light, feels high quality, 3x concurrent charging (2x QC3 USB-A, 1xPD USB-C) comes with a nice bag and 2x short cables.

I can't figure out if they're an el cheapo or just a new quality business https://www.charmast.com/pages/our-story but so far I like their one product, and their other ones look interesting generally

Edit: seem to be Chinese https://www.linkedin.com/company/charmast/

  • Hey sorry for the delayed reply.

Pretty much it will come down to what you need it for. Any reason for 10K over 20K? (for me, it mostly comes down to size)

My favourite power bank right now is the Xiaomi ZMI Aura QB822. (20k 27W PD QC etc) I grabbed it from Kogan a few weeks back for $29 with free delivery, but it is more now.
In testing I got 88% of the rated capacity. Other Xiaomi Power Banks are similar in my experience, so excellent for the price.

The Anker ones are very nice, but fairly pricey for not a lot of extra point IMO. Same goes for Belkin, unless you want the protected equipment warranty.

Blitzwolf seems like great bang for buck, but I have no idea of the long term longevity.

Xiaomi seems to be a good middle ground. Watch for fakes on eBay.

I have tested the 20k version of that Cygnett power bank, and it above average. But also a bit pricier. It is a lot more compact than most 20K power banks though.

    No idea about Charmast.

I have also tested a few Kogan Power banks, but the 10k ones don't seem to be stand out value unless on special.
