I keep hearing about them here but don't know anyone in persons that uses them.

Dozens of posts and hundreds of comments: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Superloop%20type%3A…

As with any ISP, anecdotal experience doesn't mean anything. Some will have great experiences, some will have poor experiences and neither are a reflection on what you may experience. There are far too many differing factors to consider. Try them out on a non-contract basis and switch over if not satisfied.

i moved from tangerine to superloop and had increased speeds for the same tier connection 50/20 *according to speedtests run

had no issues with connection ( not had any connection issues with tangerine or tpg previously either )

so i would personally rate them slightly higher than tpg/tangerine ( i would still not have a issue recommending tpg or tangerine to family and friends if it was a better fit for their budget/use )

Been with them for over a year, NBN FTTP on their 100/20 plan I believe. Haven't had any issues with them at all, and we average 107 Mbps on speedtests.

I haven't had to call them for any reason as yet though (which is awesome), so I couldn't tell you about customer service etc.

I've been an ISP hopper until I got a free NBN for 8 months offer from them. I'm glad I did. Good speeds (metro Adelaide) Great stable gaming pings.
    Never had an issue.
    That's just me though.
    Now paying $33.00/month 25Mbps/10Mbps U/L data.
    I'm satisfied.
Btw the free offer was a covid thing.

    • how did you get the $33 month offer

      • Curious to know as well.

        • they don't seem to want to share that information 🤷‍♂️

I have a 50/20 HFC connection with Superloop, and I'm paying a reduced rate because my account was originally with SkyMesh before Superloop took them over. I'm quite happy with the service. I think I've had three occasions to call them with a technical problem, and each time it's been handled well. At busy times, you may need to get a call-back from their support line, but they definitely do call back and it's better than waiting on hold. Their tech support staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

  • I am with the Superloop NBN (as there was a promoton). Multiple dropouts and planning to move to something else.

The last one is around 4 PM today. Tried to call them to cancel the serice. Couldnt get hol dof them and planning to call them again tomorrow.

I am on FTTP, if that matters.

    • When you say dropouts is your wifi dropping out or your internet light on your NBN box?

      • Nah it's a router issue, you have to change some DHCP settings (time outs and lease timers) from previous ISPs for it to function properly :/

A decent router (like an ASUS/Archer/Cisco) reset to factory after leaving your old ISP and things will be smooth!

Been on 1000/50 FTTP for a while now without a single issue ;)

        • Nah it's a router issue, you have to change some DHCP settings (time outs and lease timers) from previous ISPs for it to function properly :/

Which settings are you referring to?
This doesn't sound like an ISP issue

      • Its the WAN/NBN connection issue, not the router.

Happened multiple times and the connection will be off for 10-15 minutes and then it will be back again. If you login to their portal using wifi portal, service status shows green.

My router is Asus RT-AC68U running latest FW.

        • Did you find out what the problem is? Having the same issue with superloop + Asus router

  • When i first started with Superloop, im on FTTN, and on a 50 down plan, my max speed was always around 12 to 13 down, never any better, so they let me change to a 20 down plan and kept my 6m discount.
still same speeds never above 13 down..

now since January, still on same 20 down plan im getting upto 23 down.. Ookla test just now was 16 down.. go figure..

  • Great speeds with HFC or at lest here on the Gold Coast but since this year the ping in speed tests are now increased from what used to be 8-10ms pings to 40ms ping rate.

I made a post on Whirlpool SL thread asking what has changed but certainly would like to know.

Meanwhile happy with the speeds of 107 Mbps down and 18-19 Mbps up.

  • Was with them for 5 years and only switched in December to take advantage of Mate telco giving me 50/20 + mobile phone with 8gb for $79pm.

I never had an issue except for the major Cisco outages they had a while ago. Even that didn't bother me really.

I have tried Superloop and found the network side of things to be no different to Aussie or Future. They do of course have very good pricing. Churning to them was quick and painless. It all started within half an hour of signing up and was disconnected for as long as it took to change the modem setting. Completely drama free. The only downfall is having to wait some time to talk to people on the phone. They also charge extra for a static IP which is handy for some folk who run servers or need it for cameras etc. I highly recommend Superloop for anyone really who wants an unlimited internet plan. Great price, performance and reliability.

I have since moved back to Future Broadband as they also have a very very good network, never any downtime or disconnects. I like them better due to data banking and being able to get onto a cheaper plan 365 days a year instead of just promotion periods… The don't suit folk who want NBN100 speed and want unlimited.. I would direct them to Superloop.
The downside is Future have a sign up fee but if you get hold of a referral then most of that can be mitigated.. (you also get extra data in your data bank as well). The top tier providers, my list is Superloop, Aussie, Launtel and Future Broadband all do a good job, they all offer different plans and pricing so it is just a matter of what suits your needs.
