Twice the brightness of other Hue Bulbs (1600lm vs 806). Harder to find model that isn't officially sold in Aus just yet. Great if you need to light up a large room with only one light fixture.

Please note it's only a 'Soft White' bulb locked @ 2700K, there is no colour or temperature shifting functions.
UK/Euro model so it supports 230VAC - American models are 120VAC only.

  • What's the RRP?
And can these be used for outdoor entertaining areas?

    • don't know about RRP but I've had a hue bulb in an external (covered) fixture for maybe a couple of years now - no issues so far. Of course any exposure to rain or direct sunlight is a giant no no.

      • I can't see low-angle sunlight or a bit of rain being a problem, especially if down-facing. e.g. under eaves.
        Hue bulbs are well sealed.

If I am not wrong they are way cheaper at bunnings

      There you go
9 bucks cheaper and instant getting @ bunnings instead of delivery waiting

you've linked the 806 lumens bulb.

I don't think the OP version (1600 lumens) is available in Aus officially - it's double the lumens

    • +3

Bunnings only sell the standard Hue bulbs (9W, 800lm).

These are the new high-brightness Hue bulbs (15.5W, 1600lm).

      • -1

These ones are stuck at 1 color temperature, and can only change brightness.
On the other hand the standard 800 lm ones can change temperature and brightness.

        So your decision

        • You can't change the colour temperature on Philips bulbs unless you spend $50.

is it just me or is 2700K too low, even for bedrooms

    i prefer 3000-3500K.

Pity, because the brightness is awesome on these.

    • +1

      It's you, I would prefer 2500k.

  • +2

To allay any doubt, note that the Philips Hue official page specifies an input voltage of 220V - 240V. So should have no issues with our voltage.

but make sure whatever fixture you're putting them into is rated for 100w or above.

    • Can confirm, have ordered Hue bulbs from the UK before and they work perfectly here.

  • Did not know they did one so bright! Thanks op

  • I don't get the deal with Philips Hue guys …. i would pay to have 1600 or 1200Lumen warm white but they wont give it to us.

    Lifx is so Unreliable.

I think ill switch to IKEA : https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/tradfri-led-bulb-e27-1000-lumen…

Huh?? This is warm white. All fixed-colour Hue bulbs are warm white (2700K), same as Ikea.

I think ill switch to IKEA

Ikea lights are good quailty, compatible with Hue bridge, so you can mix them. The Ikea Hub is a bit useless, unless you have Homekit. (Hue bridge does not expose Ikea lamps to Homekit)

That bulb you linked is currently $30 with a controller.

  • Didn't even know these high output ones were a thing, thanks for posting. Ordered.
