        • i presume using this will get in the way of any cashback sites working?

  • Bought it at $109 on Saturday :(

If you have prime, ask support, they might just help you out as an exception

    this or oneblade?

    • -2

They're both very different shavers, so you're trying to compare apples and oranges.

    • +5

One blade is good for a close shave for sensitive skin but sucks with very course hair. This is more of an all round trimmer, I personally use both for different things as above

      • Yeah agreed, I use both too

    • +1

My 2c - I regret buying the OneBlade and am considering this device, but will read more previews before buying.

Some people swear by the OneBlade, but for me it doesn’t shave as close or as rash free as my PitBull silver (or my razor), and doesn’t trim as well as my plug-into-wall clippers. It is quite good for travel, when I don’t need a close shave

      • Both these products are cheap and useless if you want a close shave, or shave without hair dropping absolutely everywhere, they are trimmers and pretty much identical in function. Get the Phillips Bodygroom for your bits and the Braun Shaver ($80) for your face, they will both be super close, smooth and not drop hair everywhere.

        • Can you pls share the link for Braun shaver , if possible? I have this device and it drops hair everywhere.

  • +3

Good price but if you're looking for a complete solution then 7000 bodygroom would be a better choice.

    • +1. I have the body groom and it's the best.

  • I received this for Christmas last year and it's by far the best shaver I've personally ever owned.

Oops I just realised I have the 9000 upon closer inspection!

    • I got the mid tier body groom and it's great. Not so great for the face though.

    • +2

On closer inspection, these are loafers.

      • My eyes! The goggles do nothing!

  • this is a fantastic beard and hair trimmer, at this price no brainer

  • +1

How is this for a body trimmer? I have no need for a face/head trimmer but am keen on ah easy to use body trimmer

  • good for clipping kids hair?

    • +1

I use mine on myself and very happy with it

  • Have one of these, fantastic shaver and clipper!

  • I had a previous higher end model that I’ve been using since 2021 and It’s still like new, still bought this just for the replacement heads and blades that can go up to $15 per head and I got a free shaver with them :D

  • Anyone know if this has the foil shaver (or something similar) for O smooth skin?

  • +13

    can be used on ballsack?

    • +3

Can confirm, body trimmer is great for ball sack.

    • I am glad this was asked. Tempted to get this all in one type to replace the 2 I have.

Why can't these devices be USB-C. My err body hair trimmer is. Surely there is a way of making the port waterproof…

    • Thanks for asking the question. I had the same question in mind.

    • Manspot for half the price is also a good option

    • +2

The best trimmer for balls is definitely the Panasonic Wet/Dry Cordless Electric Body Groomer ER-GK80 — and I've tried a lot of trimmers.

      • Seems interesting. How does it compares to Phillips Bodygroom 3000?

        • ER-GK80 has a better blade for intimate areas, and better ergonomics overall.
See this wirecutter review on the ER-GK60, which is a slightly lower spec to the ER-GK80 but with similar blades/ergonomics.

Remington one is not great. Mine no longer holds charge and has to be plugged in after less than a year.

    • I would go the Remington actually. The wide head makes trimming the beard so quick and easy. You'll need to use something else for edging and cleaning your neck though.

  • +6

the 9000 is a lot better. Same Trimmer, but the weight difference for me was so much better for beard trimming. I had the 7000 and returned it because the weight of it felt odd in my hand. Otherwise, a great trimmer. Wish they would just go to USB C though

    • +1

Yea the 9000 is very nice with the weight and the metal body.
But I'd go for the beard trimmer over the multi groom (also 9000). The MG loses convenience and premium feel when you have to clip on some flimsy little plastic guides all the time. Still works well enough.

And yea USB C would be nice. That said, the battery lasts FOREVER.
I feel like I've charged mine about every 6 months. And thats precautionary, not because the battery ever seems to die. The main risk is forgetting where I put the cable

      • Thats true, it does last forever. I got it down pat how which settings I use. But yea it does feel a lil janky at times. And I had one time I didnt attach it properly and came off and took a chunk out of my beard.

  • Every one of these I've had has eventually failed due to water ingress within 2 years. Philips warranty is good and even offers a new 2 year warranty on the replacement device though

  • I bought this for $100 back in May and it's been great.

Battery lasts for ages (tried to drain mine the day before a flight and it stayed on for several hours).

  • Love my Remington B5 as its all adjustable lengths in the one Trimmer, but the battery has carked it and its out of warranty! Really don't like needing to change over so many attachments and these seemed geared for shorter beards but may be worth a shot at this price.

Got mine this morning and have to say i'm very impressed.. I had been using a 20 yr old panasonic shaver and an aldi clipper.. both take ages..

Can't believe how easy it shaves a beard… wow.. lol..

  • +1

I love mine. I use it for beard trimming and body grooming. The battery lasts forever, I literally recharge it about once a year using it about twice a week.

  • I have the 5000 series and it's decent but the battery sucks, it needs a 4 hour charge to work for 30 minutes. Wondering if this one will have similar issues after some use.

  • Just took delivery but disappointed to find that trimmer showed signs of previous use and package contained someone elses hairs.

Problem has been quickly resolved by Amazon but I notice that this issue has been mentioned in other reviews.

    • ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

    • same, see below. wtf

  • Received mine, item was used!!! What the hell, Philips. Even found hairs in the box, grubby fingerprints over the handle and stainless steel cutters and dust on the other plastic parts. Isn't this a health and safety issue? Nuts. Edit: reading the Amazon 1 star feedback's, it seems I am not the only one, quite a few people got used Philips shavers / trimmers. Amazon Prime Day is Philips dumping ground for Z grade factory rejects, returned, refurbished and just plain used items. No wonder they have like 10 different variants of some of their trimmers and shavers. Same name and model but different boxes…. maybe to signal which ones are lower grade, returned, used ones and the ones which are top level binned versions which are priced higher. Absolutely diabolical.

    • Just go on Amazon chat. They will send you a new one plus ask for compensation for the mistake. It's Amazon easy as.

      • -1

Amazon is great with returns, I am not worried about that. I can't get Philips off that easy. I have taken all the photos and also did an unboxing video straight from the Amazon box after I read the previous comment above me and luckily I did. I emailed Philips AU with videos and photo's. This is a health and safety issue, also false advertising by Philips and needs to be reported.

        • +1

It's more than likely Amazon that isn't checking their returns correctly. I highly doubt Philips has any part of this.

          • +1

@Vladdo: New box with new seals. Unless Amazon somehow has a deal with Philips where Philips sends new seals and boxes to them….
