    Valentines Dinner sorted.

You laugh but my wife and I went to Grill'd for our anniversary. 2 for 1 burgers and we shared a free Rekorderlig cider. The whole thing cost less than $15. :)

      • +1

You sound like a real romantic guy

        • +30

Thank you! I even made sure to wear my cleanest pair of cargo pants for the occasion

            • +98

@Windows7forever: Honestly, we've simply been together forever. Went through law school together, bought a house together, etc. It turns out financial security is ultimately a lot more romantic than spending unnecessarily large sums of money on transient moments.

              • +2

@Kajain: +1 lot of couples tend to forget this , Spend more money on someone does not prove you love them alot

              • @Kajain: This brought a tear to my eye, does your wife have a sister, Mother?

          • @Kajain: I didn't understand the cargo Pant reference, could you care to explain?

            • @inasero: I'm guessing that he is still wearing the very well looked after pair of cargo shorts he bought in 1998.. I still am :)

            • +3

@inasero: Ahaha. My apologies. Assuming it to be a light-hearted jab at my expense, I decided to respond to PleasureMe's comment about me being a 'romantic guy' by leaning into the counterstereotype of wearing inappropriate clothes on my cheap date. The least appropriate clothes for a Valentine's date I could think of was a worn pair of cargo pants. :)

Planning to have a romantic dinner on Valentine's day is the stupidest thing you can do. Do it literally any other night of the year and you'll have a much better time.

          • @ndenham: The point is making it happen on the day, though. Would you have Christmas a week late just to save money on the presents? Birthdays, too?

            • +6

@Wolfenstein98k: You are comparing a made up holiday which has almost no cultural meaning to me against Christmas (religious part aside is all about family) and Birthdays?

Also the whole reason it's a shit night to go out is because literally everyone is trying to do the same thing so the restaurants can overcharge and under deliver.

The smart money is to go out either the night before or night after and have a romantic dinner then. If your date can't wrap their head around that then I'd suggest you can do better.

            • +1

@Wolfenstein98k: I think as long as all the parties know and agree to it beforehand there's no reason to celebrate on more fitting dates. For example, my family celebrates Easter the day after when all the chocolates are on special. Additionally, we celebrate Christmas on the Solstice when we can go out to eat and the restaurants aren't packed with people – as @ndenham suggested.

I definitely agree with your birthday sentiment though! Those are a little bit harder to workaround. However, one could argue that having the party itself be on the next weekend if the birthday falls on a weekday is a form of pushing it forward. :)

I can tell you went to a law school.

      • She's a keeper :)

      • You are a lucky guy. Enjoying time with each other is the treat, be it at Grilled or any other place. I love grilled burgers a lot too :)

      • you are a lucky guy =)

  • +2

get one free when you dine in with a mate or date this valentiens day

Hahahaha yes… definitely won't be going alone and eating two burgers myself…

  • +2

Why does Grill'd only ever have dine-in deals? Is it only to incentivise people to stay and spend more on drinks?

    • +4

bring a container as your date

    • +1

Yeah hate Grill'd for doing these dine-in only deals. I'd have thought they're better off including takeaway to accommodate more customers who'd have a proper full meal dine in (aka with drinks etc)

      • How are they better off doing takeaway? Sure they get more people but most people will just order a burger and get one free

    • +1

Just ask them to do takeaway, most Grill'd staff either don't know or don't care.

Have done previously and did so earlier today with this promotion, no issues.

  • +2

Yay 2 for 1 on a proper burger!

  • Is this for new members only? They make it sound like it’s for new members only?

    • Existing members as well, got it earlier today.

  • Do we just show our phone as evidence of membership on the 14th?

    • +2

I'd say it will be like other Grill'd Relish member promotions where there will be a barcode in the app that needs to be scanned at the register

      • +1

can confirm, strange that I only receive the code via app after switching to data (from wifi).

    From their facebook page:
We'll honour this offer for contactless pick-up orders in VIC on Sunday

    • How do we add the 2 for 1 to cart? Do we just add 1 into cart and they will deliver it with an extra one?

      • you'll need to order in-store and show them your barcode

    • My store wasn't picking up the phone and had to place the order via the app.
The cashier said i'll need to chase up head office to get my one burger refund.

      • Update 11:55pm: Just got a reply from their customer service. They gave me another BOGOF voucher for the trouble (expires 31/12/2050)

  • +3

Don't have anyone to share with me, but I guess I can have two burgers and wash it down with my single life tears………… LOL

  • -1

guess it doesn't apply to VIC!

edit: the barcode doesn't come up in the app in VIC
edit 2: the barcode comes up in the app now

  • +2

For Victorians, I have called the store I wish to go to.
    (Within 5km).
They will process the order at the store in order to recieve the buy one get one free. (Scanning Barcode at register)

  • Marketing email states can order via app to redeem the offer for Vic. Unfortunately, no way to do this via the app. I guess the next best option is to call the store and pay in store at pick up.

    • Or order at store.

  • I’m in Victoria and I’m not getting the barcode on my app. How do I get it?

    • +1

On the app, look for the banner where it says 2 for 1.

Then click the "show barcode" and that should bring it up.

    • +1

It can take 10 minutes to show up, check back later

  • Are there any referral codes for WA?
I can't find any references on the Interwebs… Thank You!

  • -3

Absolutely worth it for 2 for 1.
However grill'd is overpriced when not on promotion.

    • I agree with you but haven't even checked their prices. I'm just assuming their burgers are expensive.

    • Sorry but they are really not that overpriced when you compare them to every other burger joint.

      • +1

Agree. I thought they'd be a little more expensive to be honest.

Probably one of the best burgers I've eaten, bun and everything else was perfection. Not greasy at all like some of the fancy burger places.

  • I can't get the code to appear on my Grilled app.

Can't find any banner, is there a waiting time for a new sign up?

    • No, just check back after 10 minutes.

  • +2

Don't know if i should call myself lucky or unlucky. Placed 2 orders today. Waited around 40 Min. And was told outlet ran out of buns. Got the refund and 4 free burger vouchers and 2 large free zukkini chips. Got back home and made some dinner

    • Depends how much you wanted Grill'd tonight and the 40 mins waiting time? At least you got decent freebies as compensation :)

  • +1

PSA Grill'd also have "Meat Free Modays" running at the moment for Relish members - BOGOF on their plant based burgers. Not sure when this promotion expires but it might be an option for those who missed out on yesterday's offer.
