Quilton Toilet Paper - Quality Gone Down?

Hi all,

Just wondering if the quality of Quilton toilet paper has changed. The last lot I ordered from Amazon doesn't feel the same. The colour of the paper is also similar to the one you find in public toilets.

I had some old stock leftover and can feel the difference.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

Here is the image of the two : image

Take the photo before you wipe please, no after shots

        • Bit too late… The picture is in the post.

Tell Amazon to stick it up their ar*** then.

    Don't take sh** from them.

    What a lot of crap

  • I’m wiping my hands clean from Quilton

You are right.I have noticed that quality of Quilton sold on Amazon has gone down. But Quilton from Coles is still the old good quality one.Seems like Quilton is providing shitty quality rolls to Amazon for cheaper prices.

    Even the print is different.

    Amazon are selling fake rolls.

This. One of them looks fake.

Does this mean Quilton no longer loves my bum? ( See inside toilet roll cardboard).

I noticed a few rolls didn't cut as easy for me then usual. Figured maybe I had a weird or defective pack.

Noticed the Quilton I got from Amazon seems to have a smaller cardboard roll inside it. Struggle to get it on and off the toilet roll holder.

  • Like the old tyre commercial…. you need tyres with comfort and grip

you need shit tickets with comfort and grip

  • Glad I hoarded 5 years worth of the superior toilet paper back during the lockdown.

  • Fake Toilet Paper during the pandemic, the industry is now worth billions!

  • I have found that the stuff I get from Amazon is worse than supermarkets. Not sure if a common finding though.

  • 1st world problem :)

it is when its 1/10000th ply and you have a misfire.

  • Too many paper hands on gme

  • +1

Amazon and Coles sell different types of Quilton 3 ply and 4ply gold. Maybe your comparing the two

    • I have never bought 4 ply in my life. 3 ply is the max for me.

Was it comingled? You probably bought counterfeit toilet paper.

Why in God's name are you not using Sorbent.
Ur taint will never forgive you.

    • +1

sorbent is trash and tends to poke through more than others.

I’d send the picture to Quilton customer service and see what they say. It looks fake to me.

Yes I have remarked about how skinny even the double length rolls look now, seems like they have reduced quality due to the pandemic shortages and then left that in place hoping we don't notice.

  • No mention that the embossed image isn't the same? I've only ever seen the flower on any Quilton 3ply I've bought.

  • Amazon's 3 ply 45 packs (5x 9 packs) is obviously different stuff to supermarket stuff - just looking at the rolls it isn't wound as tightly.
Not sure on the colour or the embossing, the roll itself being looser made me think it was different straight away so it was straight to the wipe ring test, which it passed for me.

Feels close enough wiping my arse to supermarket 3 ply version - I mean it feels more like "real" Quilton than say an equivalent quality Sorbent option does, so rough enough good enough.

I just assumed Amazon got any of the slightly off batches on the cheap?

Honestly, stuff like perforations not being perfect for tearing off squares cleanly is just as patchy as the Woolies 24 packs were for me anyway, so meh on that being different.

It's still better than anything else for the same money that I have access to (no Aldi up here, apparently they have a viable option) so I'm happy to keep saving a bit of money.

  • I noticed this as well and glad to see I'm not alone. However it wipes the same so no complaints here.

    Which is which?

I have some the same as the one on the right from a 36 pack. I swear the rolls are more compact compared to a year or two ago.

I have determined that the quality issues stem from the differences in the internal layer of Quilton. Notably from Amazon I have received some batches where the roll is more spread out and upon closer inspection the internal layer is not smooth but has a several small dots on them.

Is this a counterfeit version of Quilton from overseas? I know of similar brands imported from Malaysia which I bought during the covid lockdown with a yellow-purple branding and with a similar flower logo. I do not remember the exact name but it comes in a pack of 10.
