Elizabeth can't even afford FTTP Plans…

or Girrawheen, Kingsley, Wanneroo, Jandakot South, Well, even Canning Vale is a 5050.

The extension of fibre deeper into communities will ultimately enable customers living and working in affected premises to place an order for a higher speed services, which is likely to trigger the construction of a fibre lead-in direct to individual customers’ premises. This will effectively complete their conversion from Fibre to the Node (FTTN) to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology, on demand, if that is what is required to deliver the desired higher speed service to individual premises.

So they spent ~$100m on new copper to prop up FTTC and FTTN, and now spending few cool billions more to put fibre into areas that higher speed probably not the top priority. Unless of course, they know somethings about future growth of those suburbs that we don't.

  • I can't imagine a life without FTTP. Once you go gigabit you never go back.

    • How much do you pay for gigabit and with who?

Aussie Broadband for $149 a month. I don't actually pay for it myself and have it a secondary connection provided by my employer as I need to frequently download large amounts of critical data among other things. My primary connection is with another ISP and it's much slower but still better than FTTN.

That's the advantage with FTTP. The connection box has 4 UNI-D ports so I could run 4 different internet connections.
