Sony is pretty weird. Instead of new budget models, they just drop prices a bit on old stock.

The RRP definitely sucks but after cashback this works out to be about the same price as the RX100 III ($1099 RRP) when it was launched.
I remember it used to be 55000 JPY in 2012.
How soon do you get the cash back email to register after purchase?
This RX100 is getting ridiculously expensive for each new version.
