[PreOrder,NSW,VIC,WA] Herman Miller Aeron Chair Remastered (Graphite): Size A $1745, Size B/C $1690 + Delivery/Pickup @ Badbacks

170

It's still a pricey chair but this deal was popular so I thought it'd be worth posting. Unlike that deal, this one is available for pickup in NSW, VIC, and WA - though orders are backorders for Feb 26th, unless picking up from WA (the site suggests you should call them first to confirm the Nedlands store has stock).

Also looks like it can only be shipped to locations in NSW, VIC, and WA due to licensing.

The delivery price probably varies but was $33 for Perth metro - which is quite reasonable given the usual postage costs for these items.

Size A - Stock arriving late April
Size B/C - Stock arriving 12 March

Had an Aeron chair for over 10 years (with aluminium frame) and the thing is still in great condition. Can rate the product !

    • Second this. Currently sitting on a 2010 Aeron. The thing still looks brand new.

      • My Aeron is from 1996. It still works great, although the mesh on the seat pan started to show wear about a year ago.

  • Where can I check out the sizes in Sydney?

    • They have a shop in crows nest

  • Whoa, were these always this expensive? I swear i can remember seeing them for around 800.

  • Google says they're $1690 at most retailers …

I’m heading to a showroom this weekend to check out sizes but pretty sure this has been the price at least for the past month at many retailers

  • Tried the Aeron and found it wasn't for me, so got the Embody which I find more comfortable.

    • With the Aeron as with most chairs, trying it out in the showroom is not very relevant besides getting your size right. You need a week to get properly accustumed to such a chair. The feeling and support are not very close to any other chair, especially non-ergo ones and you can be easily be thrown off by thinking it feels weird. My advice is to get the proper aize aeron and use it for a month. If by any chance this is not the right chair for you(very low probability) just sell it second hand with a small loss and move onto another one. The mesh on the seat and back of this chair is one of the most practical benefits for us in AU, not going to mention all the ergo adjustment etc.
      Good luck

A few years ago the standard price was $1300, and now with the Aussie $ a lot higher you think there would be better pricing…

It just goes to show that by only allowing a few retailers to sell these with conditions attached, competition can be killed and $1690 is now considered a bargain and huge mark-ups are the result.

Whilst the FX rates are a key input into the pricing equation, I'd hazard a guess that the higher prices are reflective of the skyrocketing demand of workers seeking to replicate quality office ergonomics in the not-so-temporary work from home office of the future.

    • Agree. No different to most things in Aus unfortunately. Look at cars : so much cheaper in USA / Europe for the same cars.

I am sitting in one that I purchased from Living Edge in January. I was pretty bummed that $1690 is the lowest they have been lately, but I was pretty desperate and I'd had my eye on this chair for quite a while. Thankfully when I went to try out sizes in the store, the lady assisting me waived the $80 delivery fee.
It took me about a week or so to get used to this chair, but after sitting in it for less than a month I am so glad I decided to purchase it.
My butt is thanking me immensely, and I find I don't have a sore lower back after a long day at the desk anymore. As an added bonus, it also has a great recline!
Highly recommend, if it's in your budget.

    • It really is a great chair. I can sit for super-long periods for many years, but unlike cheaper chairs that peel, crack and turn to dust in little over a year, the Aeron is faultless for many years… I would love to try the Cosm but at nearly 3k it's a hard pill to swallow.

  • I just got my Herman Miller Aeron from the previous deal from Sit Back and Relax. Have been using it all day today. When I first sat in it was very comfortable, then after a couple of hours I noticed that my legs were starting to feel like they were cramping. I think it must be the base of the chair where it puts all the pressure on your butt cheeks and thighs.

My old chair, because the seat foam was so old it was just flat, the pressure was just only on my butt. Will have to see how I go and to see if my body gets used to the Aeron.

Back support is fantastic especially in the lower back region.

So far I feel like it is a 'good' chair but not worth the price to be honest IMHO.

  • They've increased the price to $1,850 for sizes A and B with C being $1,950.

    • For those in QLD, it's $1625 for all 3 sizes at Inner Space. Size B is in stock, A and C are on the way.

      • Is there I can get one of these in NSW? The price seems available in QLD only.

    • And it's back to $1,690 for B and C, A $1,745. ?_?
