One of my faves, prob in my top 5. Don't be put off by suggestions that it's hard to learn. It's hard to decide what to do, because you have a lot of options and scarce resources, but ultimately you're just resolving each step of the day / night by performing clockwise actions around the board. Be sure to print out the Castaways Quick Start Guide to get up and running in no time. There's a FAQ as well.

I'd heard lots of good things about it, so had my eye on it and decided to pull the trigger with this price.

Would you need this guide even for the new 2nd edition?

The rule book is quite daunting when you pick it up and realise there is a lot of information inside…so maybe that’s why they have a message on the side of the box that says “no need to read the rule book” and directs you to watch this video. https://youtu.be/1b__PzNtWxI

Oooooh I have so many board games already (and not many people to play them with) but have been looking at this one for a loooong time, and the cheapest it gets on the second hand market is around $60 anyway (not that it is often sold second hand). mmmmmmmm

Apparently that's even cheaper than the wholesale price here in AU, according to someone I know who has access to that. Considering it's sold and fulfilled by Amazon US it shouldn't be counterfeit.
