This is going to be a pretty miserable experience in Windows, would rather have a chromebook

  As bad as these are, I rate them and their kind of low speed low power low price laptops as "holiday machines"… burner laptops.
  
  I have taken these things to use on hotel wifi for occasional use if I need to remote into a server or just look something up and I dont want to bring a $1k+ machine.
  
  Bonus points if they run off a type c.
  
  If they get messed up or stolen then so what? Its a last ditch crap box.

    Do same. Have a very old Asus Transformer T100 (Purchase March 2015 for $335) with detachable keyboard (T100TA-DK003H). Atom processor Z3740, 2GB ram, 64GB eMMC. Was Win 8.1 then upgraded to Win 10 free. The thing works fine. Stuck a 64GB micros SD card for storage in it. Runs MS office happily and chrome. As a 'burner' machine it just keeps punching away and uses a standard USB charger. So I totally get what you mean. Zero stress.

      She wont let me bring some full size laptop but something 10-11" wide that is "tablet like" works out fine.
