TerraMaster software isn't worth the cheap price. Stick to Synology/QNAP if you want pre-built.
I have one of these. Contrary to the above comments - I've had no issues with mine. Software isn't as good as some others, but it does work.
If you're just looking to safely store data without needing stellar performance or features, this'll do it.
Yep I agree with you there. The software has been getting a lot of improvements lately and it does the trick.
Comparing with Synology/QNAP, what is this more suitable for? Data backup, online storage?
I can't speak for the other systems, but I haven't tried the online capabilities of this particular NAS. I just use it for local offline data backup and it works great.
Can you transfer photo from and to mobile phone via internet, similar to old wd live ?

The software is pure cancer. I found it to perform very badly as well. Would drop speed randomly. The price is nice. But it’s not worth it. Just don’t get it.
