  • Any Michelin deals coming up?

    • +3

Not likely considering Continental owns the Mycar chain.

      • No wonder last time they gave me the cheapest Continental quote

    • Hi Seaword, this is the current promotion we are running which is available on our complete range of Kumho tyres, nothing currently for Michelin at the moment unfortunately, but be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages for other promotions throughout the year! Thanks

      • +1

Where are these Kumho tyres made? Is there any warranties? if so how many years/km?? cheers,

        • They are of good quality, made by Korea, good stuff.

  • -1

How to do the quote on mycar?

    • Go the their website…

    • Hi Evo7, you can visit our website here for a quote https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres, or alternatively, please feel free to give us a call on 131328, we are open and ready to take calls :) Thanks

Every Kuhmo tyre I have had on all my vehicles in over 25 years of driving, weather I purchased, some given to me, others inherited on purchased vehicles, have all egged and 2 have exploded on the highway. A few were old so that's a factor. A few of many Hankooks egged on me as well out of 3 vehicles running them but never exploded.

    Edit: So, hard pass

    • Thanks for this information. Will stay far away from this brand and hankooks.

      • +1

Didn't think the Hankooks are that bad, starting to see them being fitted to German cars as factory fitment. I'm sure they're a picky bunch…

      • +2

Never had an issue with Kumho at all, and I've been through a few sets over the years. Even their cheaper tyres that were around $110 each were pretty impressive. No issues, lasted well enough, and they copped a workout.

    • +6

So why do u keep buying them then… hrrmm

    • +14

Every Kuhmo tyre I have had on all my vehicles in over 25 years of driving, weather I purchased, some given to me, others inherited on purchased vehicles, have all egged

Then you must be doing something wrong. I find this very very hard to believe.

    • +3

I have had a great run out of Kuhmo tyres, never had an egg or a failure that wasnt spiked by something on the road, i had 5 sets on one car and a few sets over other cars in the last 15 years, i think there maybe something else wrong for your experience with this brand.

    • +3

I've had KU36 and KU39's on my cars before and they've never let me down. Easily comparable to their Yokohama or Bridgestone equivalent at almost half the price.

    • Why the downvotes? Kumho and Hankook are very similar brands. They're both budget spec tyres. You'll know if you've used them before and compare them to better quality brands.

      Kumho? Nah bro.

    • I don't keep buying them. 1. Last and only set I actually paid money for directly would have been in the 90s for an old Holden, which failed. The rest were 2. New on a Mercedez van I purchased new. 3. On a second hand Merc van purchased 2 years ago - last one failed just recently 4. I'm sure I was given a couple a long time ago which didn't survive the tread.

So the vans were all Light Truck series.

As I say - I've had a handful of Hankooks fail before time across 3 vans and 17 years mostly due to age, but had 2 with the same date code fail within a week of each other at about 3 years old and 30% tread.

Got some Nexens on recommendations about 2 years ago. About 20% cheaper. I guess we'll see how they go.

      • I think you’re doing something wrong. Perhaps change the way you drive?

    • I have to disagree with you there. While some Kumho tyres in the early days were crap, modern Kumho tyres are awesome. The Kumho KR26 Sense I had were a awesome tyre for a great price (215/60R16 for $110).

The only tyres that I have egged on me were some Continental (ContiComfort5) that only lasted for 27,000KM. Those things were so bloody soft and has put me off Continental. Pity cause the ContiPremium2 gripped awesome!

      • Couldn't tell you what series any of the Khumos were. The Conti comfort sure sounds familiar. I think I had 1 set of them on my sedan I'm the 90s. I don't recall their fate.

  • +5

If you us mycar take photo's of your cars rims before you drop it off. My last experience using them was all four of my wheels were scratched. They did end up paying for them to be repaired but it was a pain.

    • +6

myCar is basically a franchise….I doubt every single myCar experience would be the same at difference locations
Good tip regardless for any tyre changing place you take your car

    • Hi Lowndes8, thank for you reaching out, sorry to hear that you had that experience with your last visit, glad we were able to assist and of course we take great pride in our workmanship and strive to ensure that all our customers have a positive experience with us! Thanks :)

    • I had the same experience for the Pirelli deal which was fitted on Friday. Washed my car today (Sunday) and realised there was scratched on the wheels. I'll contact them Monday and hopefully its an easy process.

      • Must of got the work experience kid. Sorry to hear and good luck. I will never take any car to My Car again.

  • +3

Do quotes include or exclude 25% off?

  • Hi Joe888, the prices shown on the website include the 25% off :) Please get in touch on 131328 if you have any other queries. Thanks

  • Dang, I just bought 4 new tyres of Kumho, 2 days ago at Mycar.

  • What is the charge for 4 wheel alignment?

    • Hi Jettblack, the price includes fitting and balancing, a wheel alignment is an additional $69.00. Please feel free to give us a call on 131328 if we can do anything further to assist. Thanks

    • Go to a suspension and alignment shop, not a chain place like mycar.

Most of the time the chain places are useless for alignments.

      • +2

As a ex suspension fitter I agree however you may have a better chance of warranty if done at same place

        • +1

Maybe, but I've found the benefits they supposedly give you mean little when your alignment goes out within a week, or it wasn't even done properly in the first place.

  • Does this price include fitting and balancing?

    • Yes

    • Hi placard, yes it does! Please feel free to give us a call on 131328 if we can do anything further to assist. Thanks

    • +4

I'm quietly enjoying the irony of a placard enquiring about tyres

  • I'm soon to need new tyres for a 2012 BL Mazda 3 - 195/65R15. I was earmarking Bridgestone Serenity Plus as I've heard they are great tyres, and very quiet (which will help the Mazda 3 NVH levels). Hoping to wait for a 4 for 3 deal.

Alternatively I can get the Kumho KH27 Ecowing for $87 each which most likely will end up cheaper.

Are the Kumho's a downgrade from the Serenity Plus?

The current tyres on the car are Dunlop FM8000 - not sure where these sit compared to the above two.

    • +2

Hoping to wait for a 4 for 3 deal.

I have a bad feeling that the 4 for 3 deal for Turanzas has been replaced by $50/$100 cashbacks instead as that's what it was in the last deal which they've never done before on Turanzas.

Are the Kumho's a downgrade from the Serenity Plus?

      I believe so.

    • The FM800 is a flagship Dunlop tyre, those aren't. Buy tyres like your life depended on it, not your wallet.

      • So you're saying the Dunlop are good quality and the Kumho KH27 fairly mediocre? What about the Serenity plus? Or should I go something like Ecopia EP300?

    • +1

I just recently got the Serenity Plus for my Mazda 3 BL. Bridgestone's promo at the time was the cashback offer, but when I called my local Bridgestone for a quote they gave me a 3 for 4 deal straight up, didn't even need to haggle. With a wheel alignment was only $512.

So I recommend just calling and asking :)
      They're great tyres too!

    • I think they would be par on the Dunlop FM800. Kumho are usually cheaper then compared to Dunlop or Bridgestone in my experience.

    • Serenity plus

      Primacy 4

      Advantage T/A drive

Oddly enough the last one scored very highly for comfort and quietness.

Tied with the serenity plus for cost, maybe a little cheaper.

MP4 if money is no object

  • +1

One might say these are cheap Kumhos…

  • +4

This is a great deal as you get a tyre care plan with the Kumho's which includes free 6 monthly wheel rotation, 50000km tyre warranty, and free puncture repairs! I've got the Kumho KH27 Ecowings currently through them

  • Welp, good deal except apparently mycar doesn’t even carry 4WD tyres.

  • oops! ordered some Continental CC6 from Tyroola last week :(

  • +3

    Great, thanks OP.

Bob Jane has a price beat policy. I am going to try.

    https://www.bobjane.com.au/promo/best-tyre-price-guarantee-p…

    • How did you go?

      • They said they will do it. Booked in for tomorrow.

    • Price beat 4 off KUMHO KH27 95V
      Bob Jane T-Marts rate = $132 each
My Car rate = $86 each
This is how I understand the price beat
      10% of the difference = ($132-$86) x 4 x 0.1 = $18.40,
      Is it correct?

  • I rate the KUMHO
    ECSTA 4X KU22's very highly.

They are an ultra high performance tyre, but you get what you pay for and these are a bargain even when not on sale.

  • Hello, can some one suggest if its worth waiting for buy 3 get 1 offer than this ? Trying to replace my stock standard Dunlop tyres for my SUV. What do you suggest ? Many Thanks!

    • Without knowing your size, your best bet is to find out the total of 4 Kumho tyres at my car. Then go to several different tyre stores and, see how much the total is if you go with a buy 3 get 1 offer. Ones you know how much is it going to cost you at my car vs another tyre retailer, you will see which one will be the cheapest overall.

      • Sorry mate, its 235/55 R 17. I got all 4 for 806 at my car for kumho

  • Kumo vs dunlop ? any first hand reviews ? Im getting all 4 tyres for 836 Dunlop & 806 Kumho. Any suggestion please ?

    • I have never used kumho. But I can tell you about the Dunlop FM800. After my Re003s wore out, I replaced them with FM800. The wet and the dry grip on these tyres are very good. They are less noisy than the RE003s. Overall I am very happy with them.

Please note, I drive fairly conservatively. I do not push my car hard. So my opinion is based on standard driving experience.

      • Thanks mate; yeah finally went with Dunlop from Bob Jones. My research on this matter also proved me that dunlop is lot quieter and more over my stock standard came with them and I didn't had any issues with them. Hence choosed Dunlop over Kumho. Thanks!

  • Heya OP - I am after a pair of 'Kumho Solus KH17 155/65R13 73H' (replacing the tires currently on the car) I am from 4116 but cannot find any results from the local stores for the size '155/65R13' any advice and or suggestions?!?

    • Hi BoldEagle, thanks for reaching out, if you want to give us a call directly on 131328, we will be able to assist and advise on availability for stores in your area. We are still here answering calls until 9.00pm AEST tonight. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

    • +1

got told by both local mycar and bob jane rep.

  • dont need tyres now but can we pay now and put on later when current tyres worn out?

    • Hi webtherapist, thanks for your message, as per our T&Cs, 'Offer Tyres purchased must be booked to be fitted on a date between Monday 15 February 2021 and Saturday 13 March 2021 and bookings are subject to availability.'. • I got a log book service done through them, they didnt clean the car :(

if i got it done from my car manufacturer, they wouldve vacuumed the car and cleaned the exterior.

the only difference was mycar got me the repco air filter changed for free and service fee was 10$ cheaper

    • Hi Kehuehue, thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear that you were a little disappointed with the log book service you received. We endeavor to ensure all our customers have a positive experience whether it be a service, repair work, or tyres.
