    The motor and blade quality.
    It got famous doing "will it blend" videos.

    A few other companies tried, but few held up for as long.

    It's aimed at the "I've owned this appliance for 25 years" crowd, not the "Kmart, every 24 months" people.

    I paid more than that for my vitamix thats still running almost daily after about 15 years. Getting a vitamix or blendtec in the country was a pain back then, so much cheaper and easily available now.

  This is an American brand, but the controller/buttons broken after nearly 2yr. Not sure who can fixed this and been sitting in the box since.

    Blendtec have a pretty good reputation, did you even send blendtec an email? This does not sound like the experieince of blendtec owners I know.

  I whould get a second hand Thermomix from Gumtree, it has a lot more uses than a plain blender.
