[Switch] Tetris 99 (Game Card, Includes Big Block DLC & 1 Year Nintendo Switch Online Membership) $29.95 + Post/C&C @ EB Games

720

Tetris 99 including one year of Nintendo Switch Online for the same price as the membership alone.

Physical copy of Tetris also includes the Big Block DLC

Yes, cheaper to get a family online membership and split it etc etc, but if you're planning on buying it anyway why not get a copy of Tetris 99 with it?

This is not a bad deal.

I've only just got into having a switch.

This is essentially buy a 1 year subscription get Tetris for free + whatever DLC.

  • +1

Fantastic Game! Highly recommended, even just the free version

  • +1

So the box/offline version can be played without a subscription in the future (eg local 2 player split screen)?

    • +2

      Yes, it's yours forever offline.

  • +1

No stock. Might have been a good deal

    • +1

Mine shows stock for delivery or at a bunch of stores.

  • +5

No stock within 100KM of 2000.

Forced $14.95 Priority postage for some reason.

    • +4

Same here. Was tempted get it delivered, but $15 no thanks.

    • +2

$14.95 means it's shipping from a store. $5.95 is from the warehouse.

  • Is the Nintendo Switch Online Membership region locked? Most of my games are on a U.S. account.

  • If you don't have a Nintendo Switch Online membership and would like to play TETRIS® 99 offline, you can do so by purchasing the Big Block DLC!

Cool, after sub expiration can still play offline.

  • +1

    thank you op :)

  • Is the game a code for redemption or a physical card?

    • Game is a physical (on a cartridge), while the subscription is a code printed on a paper slip.

      • Thanks, how about the DLC?

        • +1

It’s a cartridge with all the DLCs

          • @nayfon: Almost hoped the DLC was a download token, my plan was to pick this up for $30 redeem the DLC and year of online and then flip the game on to a physical collector for like $10-$15 for a cheap year of online and some free DLC.

            Oh well!

        • All on the cartridge too.

  • I'm not even sure if I care to get online membership now. If I want to play ultimate, it'll be on parsec.

  • Isn't the game mostly Free to play? If you only care about the core pvp is the game the same?

    • +1

For the main online multiplayer mode, yes.

Otherwise, the DLC which contains regular offline and local multiplayer modes are contained within this cartridge.

    • Does this game have free to play with 2 person split screen?

      • Yes, infact the game actually supports up to 8 player split screen, 4 joycons with 2 people on each joycon.

You can use this 12 month nintendo online single account and convert it to a family membership. I did this a while back with the free twitch prime membership. https://www.nintendo.com.au/help/nintendo-switch-online-serv…

Can i buy this keep the game and sell the 1 year Nintendo online? My home internet speed is hopeless…

    • +2

You can sell the code, but most of us here buy a spot in a family membership instead.

Splitting it 6-ways comes down to ~$6.80 per person per year (IIRC).

Cannot find a single store within 100km of Melbourne for C&C. Damnit.

    • It's showing a few for me - Melbourne Central, Swanston st, few others…

      • +1

oh snap, really? I checked last night and it was showing as not available for C&C @ Swanston St.

edit: nope… still OOS @ Swaston St for pickup… https://i.imgur.com/gPYoHEG.jpg

      • +1

You need to actually select the store and set it as your preferred store.. it will then show Out of Stock..

        • Weird, I just have and still showing stock… Must be a cache problem or something

          • @AnonyL: shouldn't be cache issue for me.. I checked on my work laptop, personal laptop, ipad, and phone

            • @itsmehuey: Sorry yes, I mean my cache, must have kept it from when I looked earlier or something

              • +1

@AnonyL: ah thanks for the clarification. yeah, it's a pity no stores around have stock..

                  • @dlovep: nah, search yields as in stock for me for swanston st and melb central stores but when you set them as your preferred store, they show as out of stock. which is really weird.

                    • @itsmehuey: Looks like it’s showing as available now for the 3 Melbourne stores mentioned before. They must have disabled C&C for those stores during lockdown

Will I need to have played the first 98 Tetris Games to understand the plot of this one?

    • +1

Yes, but there is a watch (or play) order depending if you want the chronological or filler-free experience.

      • +4

Thank you. Hard to keep up with the Tetris Cinematic Universe.

    • +2

22, 28, 45, 77 have some of the best stories of all time in any medium.

      • +1

Oh see I was always more of a 23:Endgame fan, but we could argue that one until the cows come home.

And wipe out the bottom line of all life in the galaxy.

      • +1

        where is 69 ? LoL

        • +1

          It was 68 part 2.

Of course there were the pornographic Tetris parodies called "Tetris 69" but these were out long before the series actually reached that number

  • +3

NOTE: all contents found on the cartridge can be bought for $15 from the eShop, known as the "Big Block" DLC pack.

It's handy for those who prefer digital over physical, or already have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Manage to get Big W to price-match EB Games.

    • Which store in Sydney did you get it from as it doesn't show any stock online?

      • I got the last one from Hurstville, NSW.

        • Lucky you, mate.
