With OS, 512G SSD and 16G Ram will bring up the price to 1700.

Comparing The upcoming gigabyte 3060, only 1799, I would hardly define this a great deal.

This. I'm sure some people might appreciate the post but this is definitely not a deal.

In fact, I don't think metabox has been good as a deal lately actually.

I can get an oem windows key on ebay for $20, so I'd be interested to hear what other i7-10750H / 1660Ti laptops are going for under $1500

I don't know the cheap gaming laptop market too well, but I haven't seen anything from the bigger brands anywhere near that price, can you point me to some sites?

        • mate , there are many website for windows 10 pro key under 25$ and legit (grey ones)

Check CDKoffers.com for example , windows 10 pro OEM for 10USD only (key only). Their keys are legit and not like Aliexpress 20cents one.

          • @SamyKn: What about stuff like office and visio 2019 licenses? Would you vouch for CDKoffers for those licenses too?

        • I can't really vouch for any site at this point for any gaming laptop sadly, it's just pretty much finding good model and spec gaming laptop at good price in any store honestly, sorry :/

        • The Lenovo Legion Y540 is $1431 with no eBay plus or $1395 with eBay plus. It has the 9th gen i7-9750H (which is basically the same as the i7-10750H), 16GB ram (which adds $39 to the build here), double SSD space (which is an additional $20 at least) and win 10 pro. However the screen is only 60Hz compared to the 144Hz for the metabox.

@Fiximol: I think I just missed the deal, but thanks, I'll keep an eye out for the next one. I'd go Lenovo over metabox any day of the week, even for a little extra cash.

  • The dell outlet G series are quite reasonable at times. One example here: https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/refurbished-g5-15-5500-lap…

  • I understand some people may not have the budget for super expensive current prices(like myself) or patience to wait but personally i won't by anything in 16xx or 2xxx range.

Will wait for Nvidia 3xxx or RDNA2 mobile series , i'm fully aware of miners…blah blah…still prefer not to waste money on last generation (just my personal opinion)

    • If the miners are making money off them you can buy it for actual use and leave it to mine when idle using something like Nice Hash and offset the price anyway. That's what I do with my Zephyrus G15 and it's only 2060 Max-Q (just make sure I have it on a cooling pad).

If it is anything like the 2070 and 2080 cars laptops will be the easiest way to get a hold of them at non-inflated prices anyway (which still sucks big time for system builders)

      • @PolisOfHarrowlea cars laptops? is that a website?

  • For me Metabox has the worst after sale service. Never fix the software issue. Blames Windows 10. Refuse to refund the unit.
