  • BYO desk?

    • +5

yeah slap on a solid wood kitchen benchtop from bunnings for $60 :)

      • Yeah at 100kg rating minus 40kg(?) Table top and your stuff (eg: computer), if you sit on it you'll break it.

        • +1

Would be hard to sit on it when you're standing up
          Something to consider though…

  • Feedback? Dual motor with lower load rating than competitors at 100kg. Lower warranty.

    $184 postage. Yikes.

    • Says free shipping for me (3032).

I still reckon I'd prefer the Officeworks model over this. In fact, thats what I have at home (the 120cm model) - thinking about getting one of the wider ones for my work office (assuming we ever go back to the CBD).

        lol

whats the status of 10% off the ebay plus price for local pikcup?

They're northmead north parramatta like 15 mins from me.

        • Once u purchase, contact them and they will refund you the 10% of what you paid before you pick up

      • nearly $200 for shipping alone. no way

  • Hmm I like the idea that it's BYO desk but I still can't pull the trigger. Maybe once I move I'll figure out the setup. My back might thank me.

  • Is the main eBay/Afterpay deal thread gone?

    Update: It's back

  • I purchased last week. the motor is not working.

When i press up, the desk goes up 10 step and then goes backward for 5 step.

The memory key is totally not working.

I am asking for refund but no positive reply

    • did you calibrate it? Go to the lowest setting and hold on the down button for 10 seconds and it'll calibrate. Works perfectly for me.

  • +1

I can recommend this desk for it's speed, quality and quietness. However, I cannot attest to it's longevity. Not sure if it'll last 1 year or 5 years… Here's a photo of my setup with this desk frame: https://imgur.com/a/5wasPSs

    • I kinda dont mind if the motor burns out after warranty… that's the risk of this kind of crap.

HOwever it should revert to some manual mode so you can push the top up and lock it?

    • haha wow I have never seen a laptop used that way. What's holding it up?

      • +1

Monitor vesa mount. I don't know where else I can put my laptop without ruining the aesthetics :P

        • Good idea, I might steal it :D

    • What size top did you get? Bunnings?

        • Do you reckon 60cm is too shallow?

          • @LennyT: i think so too so i m planning to put 180*80cm. you think will work?

            • @CyberMurning: Is this one from Bunnings too? I feel like 200 x 70 is minimum for me. 80 would be nice to have though. Dont want to plaster the screen on my face :)

              • @LennyT: nope 180*80 is my existing normal desk im planning to rip the top off

                • @CyberMurning: Ah. to put on these pair of legs? I think anything over 70 is good. I have a 75 and I don't mind the distance. Also comes down to how big your screen is :).

                  • @LennyT: the desk was given long ago i can see lots of screws so i assume it will be easy to tear down, otherwise well bunning or ikea

                    • @CyberMurning: I'm still using a std. officeworks fixed gaming desk and its 1,500 x 70 which is ok for what is it.

Bunnings has 1,200 x 60 x 18 laminated tops for about $45 which is about what you'd expect for the quality.

IMO 1,200 seems fine for a single 27-32" setup but for me, the 1,500 size is ok for 2 x 24 + bookshelfs etc.

                      https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/linnmon-table-top-white-8036118…

                      $29 for 1,500 x 75!

                      odd colours though

    • How do you put your laptop up there?

      • On the Vesa mount behind the monitor, there is a gap which looks like this |_| and I have placed my laptop within this gap. I drew it for you: https://imgur.com/a/xGNxOFM

Left is the monitor, and the thing on the right is the monitor arm.

        • cool but i cant do that as i use dual arm monitor stand/holder that uses the vesa mount from each monitor, i saw a kind of notebook holder that fit into the arm but means my setup will be one monitor and one laptop instead of 2 monitor
should get 3 arms monitor stand hahaha never enough

  • I bought gery one last week, it works pretty good! real dual motors
I use desk top from Ikea ,Only $29
Total cost me $272 !! so happy with that!

    • $29?!?

      • Likely a linnmon table top.

        • Yep! 150cm *75cm

          Enough

    • Hi Jimmyww,

Can you let me know if it wobbles or shakes at full height when typing heavily?
      Thanks!

      • +1

Full height ? no one Is that tall…
Unless you are purposely trying very hard to make it wobbles by smashing keyboard with your fists like playing drum, I say no.

        • You make a good point.

Just measured my elbow. Porbs closer to 1.08m from the floor.

Pretty close to full heigh if the max is 1.21m right?

Or is the 1.21m not from the floor?

  • bought with combo ebayplus afterpay but with ebay giftcard hack. got choice card from CR then swap to ebay gc $200 and $50 (max is 200) put them all with PLUSAY12 code stack three of them. works fine
    delivery free
after cashback become $227.59 frame only, not bad

    • So all that to save $10?
      Savage

      • +1

yes…$10 and plus i dont need to register for afterpay

        • Not bad if you are in the know anyway I guess !

  • error page

  • I think available again. Arrived yesterday (Saturday yes I know! Surprised).
Haven't installed yet. Just one box hopefully everything are there.
    Brand is Mason Taylor furniture
    Customer service is trsports

    Hopefully this is good…

    • hi did ur box say "Frame - Part 2/2"?
Was everything included in that one box? Or should I be expecting 'Part 1/2' box?

      • +1

yup frame only so 2/2 only.
i believe part 1/2 is the top
all will be in there. yeah i know you are thinking how come the box is so small……

  • Damn. Don't know how to install. YouTube video anyone?

    • How'd you go with assembling this table?

      • yup, at the end just bluntly follow the instructions and tried done my best.

        some points:
i should have put the power block further back, cross the centre crossbar.
people installing this with two motor on the front half-side or back?
wish this can go lower than 70cm, ideally 64-65 for me for the sitting position.
there are like 4 holes at the end of the left and right crossbars, weird as the screws will not go/flush through. how you guys deal with them?

  • Just wondering if there are anymore reviews on the frame and whether it is easy to assembling this table? I am thinking the Ikea hilver table top.

There's stock now and thinking whether I should get this or the Kogan one. Works out around the same price but the Kogan one does not have memory settings.

    • +1

easy. 2 people will be ideal to assemble. one big strong is possible. follow the picture to the letter. relax should be fine

      • Thanks!

      • Eager to bite this deal, as they seem to have restocked….. Let us know how it goes for you.

        • +1

Picked up the frame today. Frame seems solid and motion is smooth. I found it quite easy to assemble. :)

          • @onigirii: What top did you pick?

            • @Jamessaba: Ended up with Ikea linnmon as it was on sale at $29. The grey one matches the White frame quite well. :)

              • @onigirii: why not get the green one i really think green desk is cool

              • @onigirii: Hi,

Can you share with me whether the table shakes /wobbles at max height if you type heavily?

                Thanks!

  • Thinking to get this with the table top 1800 x 800 to place 3 or 4 monitors should be ok?

    • Work out the weight of your table top plus monitor plus mounts plus any other equipment E.g laptop or pc tower… Make sure it's under 100kg. Or even 80kg to allow you to have books and other stuff on it

  • +1

    Hi all.

Came back to give my experience and feedback so far. This is my 1 week review.
It is very smooth-running table and very sturdy. We have 2 monitors using C-clamps on this table.
Table does wobble a but when typing if the table is on max height at 1.2m. I use the table at 1m and there is so wobble at all. If I table the table, the monitor does shake…. But as does every other table if you smash it hard enough.

    How to step by step.
    1. Find a bunnings with a cut shop. Go to https://www.bunnings.com.au/stores/nsw and find a store around you with the "We Cut Timber" icon. E.g. https://www.bunnings.com.au/stores/nsw/kirrawee
    2. Workout what size you want. (remember this also affects the amount of edging you will need). I went with a 800mm by 1600mm table top. Because my edging is 2.4m and is 8mm thick, go for a table top size of ~784mm by ~1584mm
    3. Go to bunnings. Buy the tabletop https://www.bunnings.com.au/araucoply-2100-x-900-x-30mm-clea…. Pay $109 at the counter and go over to the cut shop and ask for it to be cut to the size of the top. Think about how you want it cut - the spare timbe might be of value to you since the cut offs are so big! (Also buy any other equipment you need)
    4. Getting the table top home. I have a hatchback - Just fold down the backseats and scoot the 2 front seats forward and it should just fit.
    5. Edging. Cut a piece of the edging the same size as your SHORT side of the table and cut it off. If you are concerned about your saw skills, cut a little more (Make sure you measure the rest of the piece before doing so. I accidently cut a bit too much for my short edge, resulting in the remainder of the piece being too short for my long edge :(
    6. Put some wood glue onto the short side and the back of the edging and glue the edging onto the side of your table. Using masking table, tape the edging to the table (at 5 or 6 different points along the edge) and wipe any squeeze out. Come back in 2 minutes and repeat the wiping to make sure no squeeze out. See https://www.rockler.com/media/wysiwyg/Learn/tips-tricks-and-…
    7. Wait till next day
    8. Check if the edging piece is flush with the table top. Use 180 or 320 Grit Sandpaper to take off any edges sticking out. Also sand the edge if it is sticking out because you cut it a little longer.
    9. Edging - Now measure the edging against the long edge (Include the thickness of the short edge too) and cut the edging and glue the piece on and wipe off the squeeze out. Tape up the edging as explained above.
    10. Wait till next day.
    11. Sanding! - Sand the edging flush (180 or 320 Grit) with the table top and bottom. Slowly sand the corner of the edging until it feels naturally smooth.
    12. Sand the whole piece with 800 grit now until it feels smooth and flush on all edges.
13.VARNISH! varnish the table top according to the instruction of the polyurethane you are using. I used a flipped (upside-down) bi folding table https://images.officeworks.com.au/api/2/img/https://s3-ap-so… Using the paint roller, I varnished the bottom then flipped the table top (2 PEOPLE NEEDED) and varnished the top + Sides and left it to dry. It did leave 4 marks on the bottom from where it contacted the table legs. I didn’t mind as it was on the bottom.
    14. Wait for it to dry (follow instructions on your varnish)
    15. Using 320 grit and sand lightly to knock off bumps
16 Using 800 grit sand lightly to make it relatively smooth.
    17. Repeat 13 – 16 five more times.
    18. Dry for 2 days
19: spray water on the table top and sand with the 1200 grit paper.
    20. To remove the whiteish marks, get a lint free cloth and wipe on a very thing layer of the varnish.
    21. Dry again then maybe a light sand with 1200grit if it doesn’t feel smooth.
    22. Follow instructions for this table leg and attach it on 😊

    • Wow ….. How do you find time to do all those… .. taking annual leave for a week maybe? Hehe

      • Wfh. But also its like 20 mins of work a day at most.

    • Thats helpfull. Been looking for a 120 * 80 and I think might just follow this. Tx
