    $1,400 for a 2019 phone??? What's going on??

    • +9

An iPhone does not depreciate as quickly as non-Apple devices. This gives people more option at this price point if they want a triple camera setup (instead of the 12). Still overpriced but it's JB and that's why we have discounted GC~~ Also didn't neg you btw.

    • gave you a plus vote as i thought its a valid comment and the -ive's are not justified

    • I think it's maybe the third best processor on the market still. It was the second best up until a couple weeks ago. Apple had the top 2 for a while, with their current and previous gen phones. So in that sense, it's still right up there with the best phones money can buy.

    • And somehow still better than most androids. Crazy hey.

    • man up. It's literally a feather. I have one.

      • +2

Pretty sure it’s not literally a feather.

        • literally (informal): used for emphasis while not being literally true

          • @Orico: So does that make other phones literally air?

Recommend heavy lifting weights before purchasing this iphon

  • How does 11 Pro compare to standard 12? For around the same price, which is the better buy? (I know this is 256GB vs 128GB for IP12 at same price)

In essence should I return my sealed IP12 128Gb ($1379) and get this instead?

Advantages of 11 pro: I think the telephoto lens is the biggest advantage over the 12. Arguably nicer to hold with curved edges, smaller size, still decent battery, stainless steel frame

Disadvantages of 11 pro: worse battery life, old design, no magsafe accessories, smaller screen, older processor (not that you'd notice), slightly worse photos maybe

      • Great, thanks. How much worse is the battery in 11 Pro?

        • +4

The iPhone 11 Pro I think has better battery life than the 12

          • +1

@Joshminey: Yep been looking into it last week 11 Pro has better battery life than the 12/Pro. JB had the 64GB at 1299. youtube link

I had the 11 Pro, now got the 12 Pro because I get them for practically nothing through work. The 11 Pro was way better to hold. The 12 Pro is a bit big, and I have large hands. The shape of the 12 Pro is pretty uncomfortable and the phone is pretty bad for one handed use. It’s also quite heavy, so you may end up with a sore pinky, depending how you hold the phone.

      • +2

Would agree that the 11 was way nicer to hold, and the bezels looks smaller too because of the curved edges. But hey new things are new things

      • Great, thanks. 12 Pro and standard are same size I think so I'll take that into account.

    • I sold my 11 pro for a standard 12 with $0 change over, much lighter and it's only 2.7mm taller, same width but bigger screen, better modem, i like the shape better, just misses telephoto lense if you need that.
      I got the all black.

      • Ok thanks, that's an interesting take. I bought a standard 12 a few days ago but haven't opened it yet. Did you notice a huge difference in camera quality between the two? Lack of telephoto not a huge issue for me…I don't think

        • i use the wide angle lense a lot.

    • I’m in the same boat as you. Bought the 12 (128gb) over the weekend and now thinking about exchanging it for this deal

      • Is that what you are going to do? I'm interested in what you decide and why

        • +1

I haven’t decided yet but it may not even be possible for me. The JB salesman was clear that there was no return for change of mind.

I think what it comes down to is whether you want latest model with 5g or don’t mind previous model with more storage and extra camera. Plus how long you plan to keep it.

          Ip12
          +better hardware
          +5g
          +MagSafe

          Ip11 pro
          +bigger battery
          +more cameras
          +more storage
          +more comfortable to hold (subjective)

          • +1

@dorikin: You can return to JB if phone packaging is still sealed, but not if it has been opened.

Pretty sure I'm going to stay with the 12 anyway

            • @hindo: Ah yes you’re probably right, I vaguely remember him saying something like ‘once you break the seal…’

I’m leaving towards sticking with the 12 as well. I don’t do any photography and just need a general purpose phone and only upgrade every 3-4 years.

    • The extra storage is pretty useless for most people. Just get iCloud storage for your photos and you'd need a lot less storage on the actual device. Very few people would have over 128GB of apps and stuff that can't be cloud based.

      • 4K video kills storage FYI. It is generally silly to assume what suits right now will suit for up to 4 years from now.

  • If you have a new TV with HDR, the 12 can shoot Dolby HDR

  • I have found better prices for iPhone 11 Pro 256GB using this browser extension: similarinc.com

Found one for $1079 on OzMobiles and another for $1139 on Kogan.

      refurbs

  • I'm umming and ahhing about this deal. It's a good phone but my 8 Plus is still going strong. The 11 Pro still has the notch, doesn't have touchID, doesn't have 5G, is still made in China – doesn't feel like much of an upgrade.

    • Same here as my Nokia 6.1 plus is still doing the job.

      • Ehh bought one

        • Cool, any update on manufacturing date?

        • +1

You will love it man. I came from s10e to pixel 5 to iPhone XS with intent on testing. Going to buy iPhone 11 Pro this weekend.

          • @onlinepred: You dint like Pixel 5? Any strong negatives on pixel 5 ?

            • +1

@Bargain666: Performance was a noticeable drop from even my old 4xl and s10. Mostly noticeable when using chrome as the biggest pain for me. The stereo speakers were worse than any phone I’ve used in the last 5 years, the earpiece is very bad for calls also. Given how expensive the phone is, and it’s performance issues today, I didn’t want to hold onto it as I felt the performance would be more and more noticeable as time goes by.
