I was looking for dslr camera last week before boxing day and got nikon d7000 with lens kit 18-105mm for $1447 at jbhifi bourke street melbourne. They listed the price for 1797. The cheapest online for grey market for this product around $1300-ish. For $100 more i can get local warranty so why not :)

Also got lowepro fastpack 200 for $75 from officeworks where all other store sell it for $90 - $120

    pls check whirlpool, got mine for 1600 the 16-105kit with usb reader, monotripod from jb and extended warranty about 6mo ago
    though this doesnt include price rises due to floods

      Yeah i check whirlpool, its very hard to get those deals these days since the price rise due to the floods. I got those price for the camera kits only, no need to bundle with anything else :)

      Tell that to the Thai people that lost their lives/families/homes/jobs. I'm sure they just did it to make prices a couple of dollars high for your expensive toys. What a bunch of jerks……

        I wasn't implying that…. I'm just saying that all the big retailers have enough stock to cater for everyone and that should be no excuse to dramatically increase the prices.

    Some JB Stores in ACT and NSW are selling the D7000 18-105mm kit for $1300 (ref. whirlpool). I have the receipt from one of the buyers but haven't been able to find a store in Melb to price match. You would be crazy to pay JB's $1795 sticker price. Just ask for a better deal and most stores will sell one for $1550. JB on Bourke St Melb also offered me $1447 so that is the best price you are gonna find in Melb. $1300 makes it a bargain for local stock.
