[NSW, QLD] Fromager D'Affinois Double Cream French Brie Cheese $49.99/kg (Save $25/kg) + Delivery/in-Store @ Harris Farm Markets

160

On special at $49.99kg
In store. Online delivery fees may apply.

Fromager d’Affinois is similar to Brie in production and appearance, however it’s flavour is richer and more intense. Once the milk is received by the cheesemaker, they utilise an ultrafilatration process that removes water from the pasteurised milk, concentrating all the other components, before transforming the milk into cheese.

The cheese itself is exceptionally consistent, doesn’t really age or ripen, but is very creamy and almost buttery in flavour.

Please Note

This product is variable weight. The actual weight of the product can vary between the weights shown.

When you place your order you will be charged the price of the upper weight, however when your order is picked we will update the actual weight and price and refund any discrepancies.

Fantastic….as per the last Harris Farm deal I bought into….let's buy 3kg with an expiry of several days…..Never again….thanks….

    • 3kg of what?

      • Guessing salmon.

    • Wrong I bought some of this cheese last week and date is best before 9th March

Which means can still eat it after that date

      • +2

Yes it was the salmon - Admittedly good Brie is actually often better after the best before date and once it's ripened properly (runny at room temperature) but online orders of fresh goods are a gamble at best. They will obviously supply the oldest of the perishable stock 1st from whatever place it's coming from.. I should have realised that on the last order from them! I can't trust online orders for freshness - way better off going into a store.

Food Bargains really need to include expiry dates IMO.

    • With foods like this - its not an Expiry Date, but a Best Before Date! Very different!

Generally safe to sell & consume beyond that date.

But the qualities of the product may not be as good. That's what commands the high price with some products - so take that into account before thinking you are getting a "bargain".

No indication of an issue in this Deal. Hopefully someone will post BBD.

HF doesn't include that date on their site. Sometimes shown as "short dated". A sure sign is progressive lowering of price as BBD nears.

Many have ordered Smoked Salmon & Ocean Trout in previous HF Deals, only to find a very short BBD, sometimes the day delivered. So be careful.

Rang HF store to confirm BBD of Salmon - only sure way is to check before buying.

As anyone knows.. Aldi Le Pave cheese $6 and just as good as this.

Side by side blindfolded you won't tell the difference.

    My fave cheese !

I buy this 90% off from Coles all the time on the day of expiry (which is BS, it lasts weeks after and actually improves).

    • the day of expiry (which is BS, it lasts weeks…
Not surprising…. Its not an Expiry Date, but a Best Before Date!

Generally safe to sell & consume beyond that date. But the qualities of the product may not be as good. And that's what commands the high price with products like this. But as some report - it can improve with age.

The price is reduced to sell to those willing to take a gamble. Generally thrown out the day past BBD, so the store is lowering it's loss by selling it cheap.

Tip - BBD is shown behind the price tags on Deli items in Coles. Just ask!

Stock with short sell date can be great bargains. Bought $30/kg cooked prawns @Coles yesterday for $6/kg - tasted great last night.

But have bought some foul smelling & tasting soft cheese (compared with fresher stock) bought at BBD - returned for refund. I sample some to check before leaving shopping centre.

    • Same here - i really like these french cheeses because unlike brie, they are not excessively salty. I really don't understand the need to have cheese be that salty

  • Tried this a while back, and wasn't a fan as the taste and texture were indiscernible from a Le Snak!
