AliExpress Free Return Process

I got a faulty item from Aliexpress. I asked the seller to send me a new one but the seller wants me to return the item first then get a refund and reorder.
They send me a link for the Free Return service (link below)

How does Free Return Service work?

After getting the free return ticket I can put it into the street posting box or post office?
or do I have to somewhere to drop? or someone come to pick up the parcel?

Also, How long will it take to get a refund? I will get a refund after the seller gets the returnd item?

Anyone who has experience please help me!

Thanks.

the seller wants me to return the item first then get a refund and reorder.

There's a possibility that if you send item back you'll never hear from the seller again or get your refund.

Unless AliExpress tell you to return item it's not recommended that you do so.

    • I'm actually open a Dispute and there is two option "refund only" and "return goods".
The seller asked me to open "return goods" but after I read some comments from your link bit scared not to get a refund. T_T

Just request a refund, ignore seller's request to return item and make your purchase from another seller.

The seller is just trying to avoid getting a strike against their name.

        • It's not totally broken but you are right. I will just ask a refund.
If im lucky I will get full refund or half refund.

@BreadTwo: AliExpress will give you a full refund, and usually much quicker then eBay do.

Don't reply or enter into any communications with the seller even when they tell you that they will now starve, their 'store' will be closed down, their wife will leave them, or their children won't be able to go to school anymore etc.

Some AliExpress sellers have an Australia return address.

    • oh.. really? I will check with the seller. if it is going back to china I think I have to wait too long to get a refund.
also, there is the possibility to lose product and money.

  • i never knew this existed. i think i've seen the 'free return' tags on some items but it never clicked.

i wonder if the return postage has tracking? otherwise it might conveniently be lost in transit
