SVS SB-1000 $899, PB-1000 $999 Delivered From Most Hi Fi Shops.

270

Appears to be a price drop on at least the SB1000 and PB1000 subwoofers. Also I don't know how long this price be for.

The gloss models in the SB1000 are $100 more.

I am not sure whether any other models have been reduced as I have only been looking at those two models. Perhaps someone else can verify if any other models are reduced.

All the main hifi shops are showing this reduced price and most with free shipping.

quality products love my SB13 and SB2000!

  • The photo is showing the 2000 series.

  • The prices are starting to come down pre-covid prices, slowly but surely. I bought 2x SB2000 Pro from Hollywood Cinema Store for $1599 each including delivery a month ago

    • Was that an advertised price or did you negotiate a discount?

      • They had 20% off storewide

  • Great Subs, SVS are expected to make a new product announcement at the end of this month, I suspect that there might be new models incoming for this range.

    • Thanks for the input. That probably explains the price drop.

    • Based on the 2000pro being released, I'd say they'll be dropping 1000pros on us soon.

I've got the SB1000 & it's a great sub (coming from a previous Hsu VTF) - amazing bang for the buck & punch for the size.

Unless you've got a large room, SB > PB.

I bought the SB1000 and was concerned it wouldn't be enough for home theatre needs (replacing an 10" ported Infinity R10 in a 3 x 5 room) but it performs incredible given it's size. Enough to shake the walls (it does go lower than the previous sub). Can only imagine what their higher model ported subs would do! I might add another SB1000 if I can find one second hand, and hope the wife doesn't notice lol

Really happy with my old SB1000, and SVS's service has been great.

I bought my sub second hand, age unknown, and the amp had an issue after I'd had it for about 2 years. I reached out to SVS USA to see if they had any tips on resolving it and they got me to shoot through some details. Turned out the sub was about 7 years old, but they still posted me a brand new replacement amp, no charge.

The sub is still going strong to this day and I'm sure if I ever need an upgrade it'll be another SVS. (not likely until I'm in a place without common walls).

    • Wow that's solid service! Good to know.

      Were you the original purchaser?

"I bought my sub second hand"

    • That is some increidble service! Definitely helped me make my decision.

    • I had a different experience, my PB1000 gives me white noise when it's turned on about half the time, has to be turned off and on again then it goes away. They weren't willing to help

      • That's a bummer; were you in touch with the Australian importer (whoever they are)?

I had no proof of purchase or anything for mine so figured warranty wasn't an option, I just reached out direct to the US company to see if they had any tips for me on repair or spares, but they ended up being more helpful than I expected.

No idea what local support is like, never had any contact with them.

      • If interdyne, the Australian distributor won't help, send a message directly to svs. I would be very surprised if they don't help you.

  • Got two SB12 from many moons ago, was substantially stronger than the B&W ASW610s they replaced at the same price. Highly recommend adding a minidsp because the SVS subs have such a flat response curve that the room will in most instances add at least one node that is 10db above average (where a traditional sub will have a roll-off that makes it less noticeable).

One of the subs did die after about a month but the seller replaced the amp and it has been fine since.

You can get an extra 5% off from Melbourne Hi Fi with code thereturncode. They send this to you when you add something to your cart and leave without buying. I bought the gloss white SB1000 for $899 from Lifestyle Store in NSW - they had incorrectly listed it at $899 instead of $999 but honoured the price.

There's an promo on until end of the month for Isotek gear: https://www.electricsummer.com.au/?fbclid=IwAR3TKCk95TwuwZGt…. I've submitted my claim and will sell it to reduce the initial sub cost outlay.

    • Thanks. Damn I’m one day late on promo. How much will you get back on the sb1000? Gloss white exactly what I’m after.

Considering these are retail 500 USD we are still getting screwed, but not nearly as screwed as when they were 1200 aud.

  • would this sub be easy to connect to an SMSL AD18? i have 2x KEF q150s

    • Yes, hook it up from your speaker outputs on the amp and then to the speaker level inputs on the sub and adjust crossover etc accordingly.

      • thanks for reply! i think i understand what you are saying. plug the sub directly into the amp speaker outputs. but how would i then connect my two sets of speakers? this would go into the sub instead? (audio noob here)

        • Run the speakers from the same outputs on the amp.

      • Or use the AD18 Sub output :)

  • I have an SB1000, highly recommend, it hits deep

    • -1

Not as deep as the sb4000 lol.

  • All svs products have a 5 year warranty and their customer service is the best. I have an sb4000 soon to be joined by a matching unit, and when I first got it, I was having a few issues with setup, fired a message off to the customer service email in the app, and Ryan, one of their sound techs, responded within a few hours. I am also looking to get their prime towers.

  • Another point guys. Do your homework. Digital cinema have inflated prices to start with so just be careful.

  • I'd give Digital Cinema a miss after this "deal" was posted by them..

    • Wow what an attitude from sales rep. Must of been drunk or high at time of post.

      • +1

For the record I DID NOT put Digital Cinema in the description. Someone edited my post and inserted their name.

My initial post stated from most Hifi shops.

        Fixed.

  • These are on sale because there is a new (and greatly improved) replacement model, the Pro. Same US RRP as the superceded model.

    • Reckon its worth the extra in AU? I want the 1000 but the pro is tempting

      • I just received an email from Melbourne Hi Fi announcing that they are taking pre orders for the new SB1000 Pro & the PB1000 Pro and the pricing is the same as this post. $899 for the SB1000 Pro in black ash, $999 for gloss and the PB1000 Pro is $999.

Pretty easy choice in my opinion.

        • My apologies, the email was from CHT Solutions.

For anyone who is willing to part with that much dough, these are fantastic quality equipment.
