AOC CQ27G2 Curved 27" QHD (2560x1440) 144Hz VA Gaming Monitor $246 Delivered @ Harris Technology via Dick Smith & Kogan

800

Hi everyone,

Was going to buy another 144Hz monitor for a second setup I am building. Was heavily thinking the Gigabyte IPS one for $379.00

Found the above for $246 including shipping:

  • QHD
  • 144HZ
  • USB hub

Are the big three i wanted, and I am happy.

This is however, a VA samsung panel, but for the price, I dont really care now (second setup)
Coming from the Dell 165Hz IPS, i know it may be different, once again, factoring in the price i am happy

Its sold from Harris Tech, via Kogan or Dicksmith

Kogan link is: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/harris-technology-aoc-cq27g2-cu…

note: https://au.aoc.com/news_display.php?id=274 for $50 steam code supposedly! Thanks to a fellow Ozbargain.

Cheap to me!

  • Damn I am tempted at that price even if it is DSE/Kogan…

  • Is this the lowest I has ever been? And is it good for fps gaming as a primary monitor?

  • I was looking at it too but wouldn't this one still be better ? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/604898

    • +2

That is FHD, this is QHD.

      • True, didn't notice that.

    • I would have QHD and better colour gamut for a loss of 19hz any day.

I have this monitor. I'm really happy with it. Yes it's not IPS but it is one that is highly regarded by Hardware Unboxed. I picked it up last year for $439 so $246 is a steal. If you really want an IPS or don't like curved displayed go the Gigabyte G27Q.

    Thia is crazy price… tempted

  • good deal.

According to AOC's promotion, also available for $50 steam redemption. Kogan participating in this as well?

    Nvm..sold out already from Kogan

  • Went to go watch a review for this, review strongly recommended it so I was extremely happy and decided to buy right away

    But… already sold out 🙃

    • Yep.. currently kicking myself

    • +1

currently back in stock at kogan if you're still looking

      • Grabbed one, thanks so much!

  • Sold out pretty fast…

  • Wow.

  • Reviews for 1440p 144hz VA panels say that ghosting is usually an issue with these monitors. Is it present on this monitor?

    • Usually only in dark scenes and it's generally called smearing. If there is a dark colour such as black on a slightly lighter shade the response time will drop considerably producing a ghosting/smearing effect. Otherwise VA are just as fast as IPS nowadays. No idea about this one but I'd assume it would have some.

      • So does this have no effect when gaming/watching movies?

        • You will most likely pick it up in shooting games. Is it that much of a problem/bother: not really unless you are overly sensitive to it. Most people aren't going to notice it unless it's pointed out to them.

  • That's an amazing price. Too bad its sold out on both ds and kogan.

  • Harris Technology expect a sorry incorrect price email soon lol

  • Would anyone price match Kogan?

    • +1

      regardless, OOS so wont work

Watch this review by llt. You'll feel better about missing out on this monitor.

    • Description says that monitor is AOC CQ27G1, not sure if they're the same model or not.

    • Different monitor

      https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/gigabyte/g27q

Reasonable response times, very good contrast, good colours, a little dark level smearing as all VA's have. Brightness being low, and not great viewing angles + curve is the main complaint.

Having no HDR really hurts the score in Rtings, but HDR on anything but the most expensive high refresh rate monitors usually sucks too much to use anyway

    Try Woolworths 🙂

  • Bought this about a year ago for $460 or so. Great monitor overall. Nice colors, contrast, smearing is there but not too bad. Just not the brightest, so not recommended for bright rooms. For gaming in the cave it's perfect.

  • Aren't these using inferior panels since end of last year or something? I remember reading something. So anyone comparing to last years copy is not getting the same monitor

Its possible only the 24inch is affected though

Back in stock in Kogan - just grabbed one.

    • Got one thanks, no further discount codes that you know of?

      • No but as I mentioned somewhere above, the model is on the AOC promotion under $50 steam cards as well.

        https://au.aoc.com/news_display.php?id=274

        • ill add this on the list, assuming can be done after monitor comes?
          Doesn't show claim anywhere lol

          • @BaeSuzy: It should work, compatible with this monitor. How do we claim though, do we have to wait till it arrives?

            • @mrtee: Think there's a form on their website somewhere to enter information - or at least their was on the .com website. Need the tax receipt so will have to wait until it ships. Still got a week before promotion ends.

    • my man!
      enjoy enjoy

    • Thanks, got one too. Been on 1080p 60Hz my entire life

      • Ouch, how are your eyes.

  • Back in stock at kogan

    • Sold out again now.

  • I bought an Aldi's QHD 144Hz 27" monitor for $250

Looking at this, I was wondering whether I got a better deal. While AOC is a well-known brand, the Medion Erazer X52773 which I got has a Samsung PLS panel which I would imagine would be better than the VA on this monitor.

Both are very similar when it comes to spec sheet, except for the difference between VA and PLS panel.

    Here's a link to the Aldi's monitor :)

  • Damn that’s cheap … I was thinking it was a pricing error at first

    • Back in stock again but now..$599..ouch..deal over!

      • +1

        probably price error, especially ozbargained.

I was going to not post the deal, so they honor my buy, but ozbargain has given too much to me to now give back

        • +1

Yep they just sent through an email cancelling the order..

          • @Eraze: yeah unfortunate, ill just imagine it be the same if i didnt post or post haha

            Gigabyte time i guess

    • It is

  • Did anyone else have their order cancelled?

    • all should, i was the OP, so if i did i assume everyone else did. once i saw the price hike, i knew it was GG

      • +1

Yeah, and knowing Kogan they never honour anything.

        • exactly why i got it at DSE hahaha, but unfortunate.

          • @BaeSuzy: Same price at dse? And does dse honour price?

  • Back in stock….at $599?
