Logitech G Pro Flight X56 Rhino $339 (RRP $450) + Delivery (Free C&C) @ Umart

190

Pretty good price for something that hasn't been discounted for a while now. Had the X-55 for years but some buttons have gone spongey. Great for Elite Dangerous.

Designed to enhance the experience of VR gaming and the re-emerging space simulation genre, Logitech G offers the advanced X56 H.O.T.A.S. It’s a shining example of complete control featuring analog thumb sticks, RGB lighting 16-bit aileron and elevator axis, 189 programmable controls, and more.

The updated X56 features a stealthy new black and gray finish in addition to engineering enhancements that address feedback from the community. Expect a more amazing experience for all flight enthusiasts; from fun, plug-and-play gaming all the way to professional, fine-tuned simulation.

Edit: Confirmed that this is actually the Grey (Latest) model. Pictures on the website showed older Blue model.

Right on the page it says RRP:$399.0 Save $60.0
    Some horrible reviews too.
Thanks for posting but buyer beware!

    • That RRP is incorrect

If you’re after an x56, this blue version is the one to avoid. This is one of the original style Saitek units. They had horrible issues across the board.

From what I’ve heard the newer RGB ones that are grey and black (rather than blue and black) have fewer issues and are likely a much more worthwhile buy.

Avoid this version like the plague. I wouldn’t pay half what they’re asking.

    • This is true but this is actually the new grey version according to the part number shown on the page. This (945-000058) is new US version, 945-00059 is new EU version, anything else is the older more problematic version.

Promo images mostly everywhere always show the blue version regardless of what is actually being sold, but I doubt you would still actually manage to find the old blue version as new stock anywhere. If in doubt do check the part number.

For sheer number of switches this is good, specially the throttle… BUT the stick is very imprecise around the centre, way too imprecise for the price. If you can live with fewer switches and are more serious about precision (for things like air to air refueling in DCS), this is not the best use of your money.

      • Yeah that makes sense. Annoying that the misleading thumbnail is being used.

I hear you on number of switches. I picked up an x55 10 years ago or so and it came with a bunch of issues but the switches on the throttle side were very handy. Ended up going with an x52 pro, but I’m keeping an eye out for an affordable switch-heavy throttle to go with a NXT premium so I can upgrade.

As cool as they look, I would skip the X55/56 range entirely and go for a Gladiator NXT - much better longevity for your money.

Just thought I would comment on this for those who might be confused. I picked this up from Umart a couple of weeks ago for MSFS2020.
It's not the blue Saitek unit, it is actually the RGB grey and black. I have issues when using USB3.0 but using USB2.0 it is absolutely fine, adjust the dead zone a bit and change the spring out and its great, I am thoroughly enjoying mine.
For anyone wondering the issues I had with usb3, sometimes it would have phantom button presses.

    • Thanks for clarification about the different coloured models. The link and description of the umart listing are straight from the logitech site that refers to the grey version. So based on your experience it looks like umart are using older stock images but you will actually receive the grey (updated) one.

  • Had been eyeballing one of these for years from back when they were Saitek. Pulled the trigger (pun intended) a couple months back and got the Logitech version which is what this definitely looks like to me. Prior to this I had the Logitech Extreme 3d. It’s a decent bit of kit, decent quality, but it’s big. Need big hands for the switch locations to feel ergonomic.
