I'm actually quite disappointed with REX, and my flights are still 2 weeks away.

They cancelled my original flights because they made cuts to the flight schedules, so I get a text message saying your itinerary has been modified due to flight cancellations. OK, so I fire up the website and see if I can make the change there.

Their website is just plain broken. They'll sell you a ticket online, but their booking management section has been unavailable for weeks now - something that is completely unacceptable for a full service airline. It's obvious that they're running the website with a 2020 front-end and a 2000 back-end. I booked a REX flight in January last year and it was like being transported back to the days when Nokia 3310s ruled the roost.

So I ring the call centre and (obviously) need to quickly ummm and ahhh about the alternative flights available as they're read out to me on the phone. I opt to change my flight to Melbourne (originally early Saturday morning) to late Friday evening and my flight from Melbourne (originally late Sunday night) to the late afternoon flight on Sunday.

Get the new itinerary emailed to me, and turns out the seat selection I paid $10 for on my flight to Melbourne has been blanked (no refund though) and I need to ring up again to make this change. Haven't had the time to do it yet. Ugh.

      "Full service airline" indeed.

Not surprised to be honest - at least you get to talk to someone in Australia, that's too much to ask for Qantas (our flag carrier!), Jetstar and Virgin apparently!
