There was a weight bench in K-Mart (Belmont, WA) this weekend which caught my eye, it didn't have a price so I called a staff member. It turned out to be $60! WHAT A BARGAIN, and it included 50kg worth of weights… Built it in less than an hour with a few beers and was ready to rock'n'roll.
Don't know if this is a state-wide product, but was a steal in my eyes!
is there a rating on the maximum weight the bench and bar can handle? is it a standard bar or does it have its own diameter
To be honest I couldn't tell you. There was a manual but only for building it. The bar is split and joined by 2 small pins (had to hammer them in) but if it was used with a straight bar I'm sure it would handle it?
This is a brilliant deal. Weights usually go between $2 or $3/KG so to get the bench thrown in is fantastic. The bar is likely a 5KG one with a 1" diameter, you can swap it for something heavier (give a better grip IMO) all you need to do is make sure the new bar has the same diameter.
I'd pick one up if I didn't already have a bench. Might recommend this to some mates. How did the beer+workout go? Hopefully you had a spotter :P

The makeup itself is pretty sturdy but the bar included is split and joined with 2 pins (which handles 50kgs alright) so a I'm pretty sure it would sustain a stronger bar if you have an extra. I was only in the market for a dumbbell incline bench (which was only $28 same brand) but when I saw this and thought "what a bargain"…

Good deal on the weight set. I spent over $100 on something similar (bench and weights were sold separate) at Kmart last year.

Checked with KMart Store(Village Gardens,VIC) and they confirmed this product was on special few weeks ago but not anymore.
