Best Value Laptops $800 - $1200 - Windows OS

Laptop Gods i call upon you..

My PC's few month old Mobo died a few weeks back, it's @ techfast for repair, so been looking at some laptops.

There are so many different configurations generations etc its very easy to get lost. I would be using it mainly to browse ,emails, tails etc maybe the odd video/game. Would be stationed at home most of the time. Ideally to have good CPU, good RAM or the ability to EASILY upgrade the RAM/SSD.

I read from comments that Dell has excellent customer service and make quality products in the higher price brackets, not so much in budget models?

Should I hang back and wait for a similar deal as -

Lenovo Flex 5 14" 2-in-1 (16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, FHD, Ryzen 5 4500U) $870.81 + Delivery (Free with Prime) @ Amazon US via AU

Dell Inspiron 15 7506 2-in-1 Laptop 11th Gen i7-1165G7 16GB RAM 512GB SSD $1140 Delivered @ Dell eBay

Lenovo IdeaPad S540 13", AMD Ryzen 7 4800U (8C/16T), QHD (2560*1600) IPS, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD $1097.10 @ Lenovo Education Store

Any input is much appreciated.

Cheers!

No need to wait for Dell, currently doing 20/22% off on ebay.

How about a Surface Go Laptop? They are currently on special with Free Sleeve on Microsoft Store. It has 8GB RAM (not expandable), 128GB SSD (apparently replaceable).and a touchscreen with very bright screen.

Though i am very happy with Performance of Ideapad S540 Ryzen 7 4800u and its portability … something is missing in screen … eyes stress a bit especially in evening and night … text doesnt feel very sharp and easy to read … i have searched and turned off Veri Bright in AMD Radeon setting but still not very happy. My Sony Vaio Flip 15 FHD screen (5 years old) feels far more superior.

Hey Chips, are you still facing the same issues?

      • Yups … Not very happy with the screen though overall I will give it 9.5/10. Have you bought one and in same boat ?
