Moved to Forum: Original Link

First Post. BLUE SPEAKER ONLY. It's more than likely a pricing error. However, it is a back order for the 8th June. If you don't mind the wait, it's a crazy deal.

      Don't feed the troll

  • +7

Anyone else keep refreshing the page and hoping it's back in stock at the same price? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • +1

Apparently you can use the code HONEYJBL for the black version which will bring it down to $319.96

  • +3

Sure it’s likely a pricing error but how on earth is thing normally $400?

    • -6

Agreed. My mate got one $270 a few years back. Not sure why the price has gone up, and yes it's this version, not the older gens.

      • +1

You're saying your mate got this version a few years back?? You do know this only came out last year in ~October right?

It was quite obviously an older gen that your mate got

        • +2

Dande market sell them for $270……..JDL brand

  • +1

I'm waiting for the comments complaining why they weren't offered compensation when they get refunded for what's clearly a price error.

  • +1

Dang. Girlfriend has wanted this one for ages. Always trolling this site. Can't believe I missed it.

  • good ol' case of ….peanuts.. monkeys….

    • have peanuts get monkeys?

  • NOOOO I MISSED IT :(

I stay off OzBargain for an hour and this happens lol

  • Shattered I missed it but absolutely certain they won't be honoring this, way too big a pricing error.

Good luck to everyone who got an order in though.

    • +3

Why shattered if “absolutely certain they won’t be honouring”?

      • Because there is always that hope that they will honour it. And if this is the 1/100 time they honour it I will be shattered because I am in the market for a good BT speaker.

  • Gnarly brah

  • Dammit.. gone for a couple of hours and miss something I've been looking for again.

Pretty sure it's a pricing error but good luck to those that managed to get one.

  • Cancelled my order

    • Did you get an email from JBL?

  • darn.. sold out

  • -3

    Cheers op got 6

  • Ha good luck

  • damn, missed

  • Looks like an obvious decimal point and missing the 9 pricing error.

  • +6

If anyone gets this honoured. I will eat a shoe.

Note: Shoe may look eerily similar to a big mac

  • +2

Damn this would have been sick for my bus trips

I wonder what are the legalities around pricing errors?

Once you have paid for the item at the advertised price isn’t the retailer legally required to give you the item you paid for?

Unless there is some sort of fine print with online orders about a price error?

    • +1

      From their website:

If we decline, reject or limit your Order after you have made payment, we will notify you and refund the amount paid. If there are any errors on the JBL Online Store that affects your Order or if there has been an error in the price of the Product you ordered, we reserve the right to correct the error and will endeavor to notify you of the same. In such case, you may either choose to purchase the Product at the correct price or information, or cancel your Order and we refund you the amount paid.

      • Standard t&c…

    • +1

Its in their terms and conditions, which I think to be honest are due for an overhaul because its annoying that you can get a price error on their end, and your money goes out of your bank account instantly but takes weeks to go back in.
On the flip side theres been times I have bought something, and within days the item I bought has gone on sale with the person serving me knowing a deal was incoming.

Thats why I like my local JB Hi Fi, there has been 3 or 4 times I have gone to buy something and they have told me about a pending sale, and either "price matched" their upcoming sale or give me the option to come back later and grab the item.

    • -5

Wow, negged for asking a question?!?!???

    • +2

You're getting negged because this question has been asked and answered multiple times. Anyway I will copy and paste a comment I made a couple of months ago to a similar question

This has been discussed to death but from what I understand, the price you pay is your offer to the business to purchase the product. At that point the contract of the sale is not yet complete and so the business is well within their rights to reject your offer. Essentially 'cancelling' the sale contract

So yes if it's a genuine price error the retailer can just say it's a price error and refund you

Of course if it's bait switching or intentional false advertising then those are different cases

      • "You're getting negged because this question has been asked and answered multiple times. Anyway I will copy and paste a comment I made a couple of months ago to a similar question"

That's brutal! Just because I haven't read previous OzBargain posts?

        • It’s the way it is. I didn’t neg you by the way

    • I wonder what are the legalities around pricing errors?
Once you have paid for the item at the advertised price isn’t the retailer legally required to give you the item you paid for?

No. They can give you back what you paid.

    Looks like a sleeping bag

  • -6

Everyone on the phone to ACCC when the cancellations come through lets go

    • +4

Come off it! You've been around here long enough to know the ACCC does not accept complaints about pricing errors.

Complaining needlessly ties up ACCC resources & wastes peoples time.

      Pricing Errors under Contract Law

Under ACL, a refund of the money paid is all that will be provided.

      • -1

Lol funny though, I mean 8000 clicks can't be wrong. OzBargain kept it up knowing it would waste JBL's time so who are you to say come off it to me

        • +2

Tax payers might not think so.

          • @INFIDEL: I'm not the one getting revenue for keeping a pricing error deal active. Take your complaint to u/JakBargain or Scott. I won't be replying again.

            • +1

@King Steuart: I was complaining about you misleading people about consumer law. The ACCC can do nothing about pricing errors.

Following your advice will just be an additional waste of time for those who ordered - if JBL cancels & refunds.
And waste the resources of the tax payer funded ACCC.
Can't see what you think is funny about that?

So why post a useless & misleading recommendation about consumer law?

As for your added complaint of keeping a Deal up that MAY BE a pricing error - Take your complaint to u/JakBargain or Scott.😉

That is common practice on Ozbargain. The Deal Description warned "It's more than likely a pricing error."

Hopefully people will get the bargain they ordered. It was a gamble 🎲🎲

  • damn, big miss on this deal.

  • Has anyone ever had a pricing error be honoured?

    • +1

      Really? Of course. Hasn’t everyone?

    • +2

Yea. Catch of the day phone card, $30 for 365 days, original price is $120

    • +5

There was a game on Steam in 2018 or 2017 and it was meant to be $89.99 and they accidentally put it up for 89c. I woke up the morning it launched to find my mate had gifted me this game.
Lucky he woke up, saw it for 89c, bought himself a copy then bought and gifted me a copy.

      And they honored the price.

      • +5

Awww, get yourself a mate like that dude. Good on him :)

    • +6

I got $250 gift card from Bunnings drone’s price error

      • +1

        Same

    • +1

Yep, went into Telstra and one of the staff put the new iphone 7 up for $40 on 12 month plan, instead of $79 for 24 months. They tried to refute it, but mentioned TIO and they had to honour it, bingo

    • bunnings drone…

  • +4

I got one of these for Christmas - it's bloody awesome. Well worth $39.95

  • +1

they have updated the price of the blue one to $399.95

  • -3

picked up @ 39.95! sounds about the same as the flip 4, but louder and sturdier

    • Where did you pick it uo for $39.95?

    • +1

      Bullshit, it's way bigger.

  • I bet the company's printer ran out of paper after so many orders.

  • +2

Missed out but good luck to those that got in. Bose honoured a price error on the soundlink mini a few years ago so who knows.

    • Yup, I was one of them, really happy. Then some kid dropped it and break the speaker, now I need a new speaker and looking for the same kind of bargain :)

  • -2

If they honoured the deal, and only if anyone bought extra, please sell one to me, please :)

    • +4

I'm pretty sure those who brodened and got honoured will not be selling it for the same price. It will be all over gumtree and FB marketplace.

  • +1

Clearly price error…did anyone actually get order fulfilled?

    • Is that a comment for time travellers?
"it is a back order for the 8th June."
      Time will tell.

      • I’m guessing I’m wondering if the cancellation emails have been sent out yet?

        • +1

No haven’t received the cancellation yet

        • A common thought around here!

          I understood what you meant😉
Just, order fulfilled requires delivery of the product. Which may happen…
Expect that is likely to be a fail.
          The refunds have started.

  • +3

JBL plans to keep the money until June-2021 before cancelling the order and returning on the finds.

    • Great for cashflow.

      • +1

Ingram Micro had a revenue of US$ 47,200,000,000 (yes USD 47 Billion) last financial year alone. Pretty sure they're not after couple dozen orders at $40 a pop.

        • You must be fun a parties man. It would have been funny if this would have happened. They have started refunding the orders.

  • +1

Just received an email saying I've been refunded.

  • +1

    Got a refund via PayPal

  • +1

    Same here refunded

  • +1

    Same here

  • +1

Still no refund email? Still hope

    • Maybe payment method.. I have a refund notice from Paypal but no other notice. Perhaps those who paid by credit card will be done later.

      • I purchased this via Paypal. Haven’t received any refund email yet. Maybe done later?

        • Same paid via PayPal no refund yet

  • No refund email yet

  • +1

Brought 2 but both been refunded bad luck hey..

  • +2

    refunded :(

  • +2

Same here, refund received via PayPal

  • +2

    Received a refund. 😂

  • refund because obvious pricing error hahahaha

  • +1

    Got a refund via paypal.

Does anyone know if paypal charges the merchant a process fee after they provide a full refund to the customer?

    • +1

Will I get my transaction fee back?

If you refund a payment for goods or services, there are no fees to issue the refund, but the fees you originally paid as the seller are not returned to you. The amount of the refunded payment will be deducted from your PayPal account.

      • Punishment fits the "crime".

      • They still have to pay few percent to paypal, that’s fair enough

        • +1

As a merchant seller they have an agreement in place where there are no fees in cancelled transactions.
