    the real expiry was 2 months before it hit the shelf ( 2 weeks after the beans were roasted )

      I know there's some true coffee snobs out there, but this type of statement is complete rubbish. Lavazza, like a great many coffee producers, nitrogen flush during packaging to remove oxygen and moisture that would otherwise oxidise and ruin the batch.

      Once the bag's open, sure. That coffee won't last too long without losing quality. And for at-home grinders or a local roaster, it's better to grind fresh and use those beans ASAP…
