LG CX 4K OLED TV 65" $3,569 + Delivery @ Myer

240

Deal from Myer, roughly 15% off current retail prices. Comes with 7,000 Myer One points if you don't want to price match at other stores, which I think comes to $70 store credit - I've never used it

Other deals include the OLED55CX for $2,634 down from $3,099 and OLED65GX for $3,994 down from $4,699

Only 1k more expensive than last years c9

  • What’s the difference between the CX and the GX?

and are they markedly different from my B7?

Technology is getting way too hard these days.

    • Gx mounts flat against wall. Cx has a bulge at the back so will stick out if you mount on a wall

    • A bit more quality control on the panel and a thinner backing as it's supposed to be gallery inspired for wall mounting on the G series, but that's it. This year's models will be a difference in brightness and possibly other specs

      • from the reviews the C1 isn't that much improved over the CX

        • +1

I think they mean the G1 will actually be better than the C1.

          • @skrot: Yes :) that's exactly what I mean. G series will have better brightness among other things. Looks like the C1 will just be a rebadged CX

Still waiting for my fantastic 65' Panasonic plasma to fail, it won't…

    • +2

Haha I finally gave mine away to charity at the start of the year. Still going strong after 15 years and unbelievable picture quality.

Great tv. Spare tv at my sons place now. Was great in the winter as well as a heater.

    • That's what I've been saying since the Pana OLEDs went AWOL and I missed out on that JB deal. Then I get home this arvo and my trusty 11+ year old Sony had carked it.

    • I too have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV. It’s been sitting proudly in my living room for about 12 years and still going strong. I recently bought a Hisense 65Q8 for my bedroom. I find I prefer watching the Hisense more. Maybe it’s because it’s bigger and brighter. Also you really appreciate the 4K picture quality.

    I’d insta-buy the 77” at this price

    • +3

Well so would thousands of others

      Not happening

I would insta buy a lambo at this price.

      • In 50 years, these TVs would be trash even if they work perfectly. A lambo would worth more in todays dollars if well maintained.

        • absolutely not.

        • +1

          So buy lambos not tvs

  • 77-inch is $6799

There was only 2x OLED65GX in stock at lunch time today. I bought the last one located in Vic.

If the CSR is right, the last one is located in WA, which I think means that it will only ship to WA addresses.

  • No stock of the 65 in Victoria :(

I (with some stroke of luck) picked up a 65 inch GX brand new/unopened in box for 2800 on FB marketplace two days ago!

Nice one. Time to change your username buddy!

Sometimes, you become broke after the shopping.

    • Why would anyone sell it so cheap?

      • Supposedly they received it as a gift and were selling it to gather money for car repairs - I wasn't going to ask too many questions

  • +1

    Good price
    Wish i could buy it!

  • +1

Man these just didn't drop in price like the C9, guessing Covid stuffed up supply. Was able to negotiate $3600 including delivery from Good Guys mid last year (2 phone calls)…

    Hisense Q8 75"
    Sony X9500H 75"
    Samsung Q80 75"
    LG CX 65"

not sure which one to go with, got a xbox one x but not series x and not a big gamer at all

also don't trust myself to leave something paused for hours and risk burn in

    light room

    • +2

I also want to buy a tv for next-gen gaming.
      Here's what i've found:
Some Q80 have vertical band and DSE issue. According to reddit, it is a bit of panel lottery
Sony X9000h does not support VRR & ALLM yet, and x9500h will never support those hdmi 2.1 features.

CX is the best among those three but with a risk of burn in.

Personally I would wait for a deal for 55'' CX.

Great TV but out of my price range

    • +6

Yea I feel like anything over the $2600 for c9 65” is just too much. Even then I thought it was a lot

  • +1

have they fixed the VRR issues yet?

  • +1

Very good price.. I bought the same from jb mid last year for $3600~, beautiful tv with no regret

    • How'd you get it that cheap that soon after release?

  • +1

JB HiFi just price matched the 55CX for me. Could have had it delivered today if I wasn't busy.

  • +1

Stock was out about 7pm yesterday for online :(

  • Was able to get The Good Guys to price-match this despite the Myer deal having expired. Can PM receipt if anyone needs.

    • Hey mate, can you PM me the receipt?

      • They'll definitely match now the deal is back! JB too. I'll have a look tomorrow though if you still want it :)

  • Myer is now out of stock of the 65" CX.
