These work well for me and look at the cost compared to Panadol, same amount of Paracetamol and you only get 20 for $3.99

    • I am sure active is from same company too

      • +1

        Active?

        • Paracetamol

@ronburgundy11: The active ingredient, I think they’re saying it likely comes from the same source.

Not that I’d be concerned, you can’t sell pharmaceuticals in this country without having incredibly strict controls. The only difference is marketing and Panadol is usually easier to swallow

            • @ronburgundy11: Paracetamol might be sourced from same company. So if you use Panamax or Panadol it's same. Just different manufacturer of tablet.

        • I think ScoMasas gets over active when taking a Panamax with a Red Bull.

      • What?

    • Hedanol 20 pack is $0.69 at ALDI everyday if deals aren't available.

  • +1

    Been waiting for this

Usually max 2 per customer fyi. Also if you haven't had them before they are quite chalky discs instead of pill shaped, so if you have trouble with pills these probably wouldn't be great

    • Yeah. It's not cosmetically coated and so it's cheap too

      • +6

Just grind them up and snort it.

  • I prefer it when it was 69c

    • +1

Same, last time it had free delivery included

  • Looks like there's a maximum limit of one per customer.

    • most stores should allow you to purchase max 2 in-store.

      • My brother tried to buy 2 a few hrs ago and was refused, which I thought was a bit strange

  • +6

I work in a hospital where we buy Panamax in bulk (10,000's at a time). The cost price is higher than $0.49. They are selling for a loss to bring in traffic.

    • +1

It wouldn't surprise me if sanofi gave it to them for free, for corporation relationship purposes. Considering their revenue levels from complex drugs, giving this away for free would be good marketing for them.

But as an ozbargainer, I wish there were more loss leader products in the world. I have no problems walking into a store, buying one thing and walking out again.

  • Do they put it next to the lollies at the checkout like at Aldi?

    • +1

My mum always refused to buy these for me when we visited the chemist.

      • Are they any good?

        • I don’t know, but they sure look good. Been around for decades too so people obviously buy them.

          • +1

@ak47wong: I recommend the wild berry as excellent travel sweets.

It's a bargain, but these are always cheap.

Just as one example, Woolworths has these at 70c for 20 tablets, which admittedly is a lot more per tablet but hey, it's 70 cents.

  • +1

So you basically save about $1.50 From RRP if you get your A$$ to a store for your big buy of 1 ,

    • petrol is also $1.64 a liter where i am so if you drive something that isnt a small 2 Liter engine…

  • I'll drive to get one. Save 10c from Aldi one, spend time and $2 on petrol. Excellent deal!

    • How much time you spent just to get this ?
Also, factor $15-$40 per hour wages people can earn with that much time you spent.
      Time is Money too

      • It was obvious sarcasm but bluey seems to have missed the fact that these are 100 packs, so maybe his $2 wouldn't be so badly spent after all.

        • Yeah got it. People needs to buy this with other items to make sense of this deal else it would be waste of money in shipping to travelling just to get this item only ;)

      • I'll buy a thousand to make it worth it!

1% cashback on 49 cents is 0.49 cents, rounded down to zero or rounded up to 1 cent?

    • Cashback excludes GST. So it will be 0.45 cents. Not sure if it will round up or down.

      • +1

Isn't Panamax GST-free Supply under the (Drugs and Medicinal Preparations) Determination 2015?

I mean if you really wanted to save 1 cent you could always go into Chemist Warehouse and use a HSBC Global debit card to paywave the transaction to save 1 cent per pack.

        • This deal is for a 100 pack. Packs of 25 or less are GST free. Your comment prompted me to educate myself, so thanks panda.

          • @[Deactivated]: Actually if you read the explanatory statement for the determination it explains why the 100 pack is GST Free from a pharmacist.

            • @pandadude: Ah, thanks. Searched in the wrong places obviously. Lots of conflicting (or incomplete) information on various websites and the usual legalese on the ATO website.

              • @[Deactivated]: Their website is a total minefield. Also they will never tell you the correct answer until you get audited.

In the end businesses are unpaid tax collectors for the ATO. I mean they have to collect GST, FBT, income tax and PAYG.

We consumers are the ones who pay the GST since most register business are able to claim it back.

  • Can also price match anything from Chemist Warehouse at Chemist Discount Centre

  • Got 4 boxes today for workplace. Interestingly, the shelf price label was still $2.99 so they don't advertise it in store. Just a cheap way to get outsiders in. The store was busy but no other customers buying them…

Being a pharmacist must be the most miserable job in the world? Giving medical advice when all the customer is buying is 49c of product. Wonder what the atar is

  • When do these typically expire? I'd like to buy 1 but I rarely need paracetamol so I'm concerned that might expire in 6-18 mths

    • A pack that I just bought expires 8/23

  • 0.49c 🤣

  • +1

Thanks, caught the cold last weekend so now I am chewing on paracetamol tablets so I can get back to work ASAP!
