How to Transfer HDD Contents?

I bought a sff pc which has ssd. my old mini tower pc had hdds. is there an easier way I'm not thinking of to transfer the contents of the hdd other than going over to a friends and adding it to his pc and transferring it slowly that way?

You can mirror the HDD using on these type of USB enclosures (put hdd/ssd in it and plug it into your PC and it'll function like a normal USB drive):

Just make sure to get the correct size enclosure i.e. 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch.

Copy the files you want into an external (USB) HDD and take it to your friend's place?

    as said by others

    External Hard drive dock -
    EG: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/simplecom-sd326-usb-30-to-s…

Remove drives from your old shit PC
    Put them in the dock
plug dock into USB and it comes up as a normal drive in windows explorer
Copy and paste to new drive. keep old drives as a backup.

Note any programs you have installed will need to be reinstalled on new machine.

If the ssf pc uses standard sized SSD, could you not remove it and connect to your old pc via a spare sata connection?

No monies are required provided you have the spare sata and power cables internally.

    • This above. Or if your sff pc has a spare sata, could you not connect your old hdd to it then copy files across?

    • The configuration of the SSD makes me have to remove so much component I would rather not for an external transfer type of solution. Thanks though

  • +1 to everyone else's recommendations. You can also copy files over the network.

  • Could always clone the drives assuming the SSD is as big as/bigger than the old drive (storage-wise)

    • How to clone?
