Making a living vlogging sounds great as an idea but the reality of vlogging your life (to enough strangers to make any decent money) is probably really crappy. Have fun altering your life/personality to fit whatever appeals most to YouTube viewers (13 year olds).
I think your best bet to get such information is on YouTube itself. There are thousands of videos where folks talk about their experiences of vlogging, from how they started to how they got where they're, the gear they use etc etc. There are those with massive subscribers, as well as vloggers who are new to the platform. Just type How to vlog on the YouTube search bar and you're good to go.
