This is another App I found for the special needs community - very effective for non verbal kids who cannot talk or cannot talk extremely well as yet.

If you do not need it fine but if you know someone that has a kid with Autism or a kid that is non verbal and they have an iPad then grab this for them while it is FREE as it is a very good App!

Description

Point to Pictures is an Augmentative Communication training app designed for those persons learning to point/select a picture on an iPad in order to get that item in real life.

    Glad to see work related stuff finally make it onto OzB! I've actually read about this app. A very good AAC option. Although it is directed at kids, its not only useful for kids. Adults that require AAC can also make use of this. +ve from me!

    Massive thanks for posting this. The autistic school I work at recently fundraised enough money to get several iPads and are looking for apps. Thanks again!

        WHY on earth would I get neagtives for this? I am talking about sharing it with as many people as he can so that all of their iPads can have the App , otherwise only 1 ipad will have the app. He/She has STUDENTS with Autism - what is wrong with you people?

        I think its the "could you give me a + vote up top" bit, the community here doesn't like people asking for votes - it should be up to each person whether or not they vote on a deal etc etc.

          OH no it must be me, lots of shyt keeps getting negged and I have seen plenty others do it so didn't think it a problem, actually I was asked a few days ago to do the same, which I did no problem, no worries but I wont do it again, shame people get something though and even post but dont vote it up. Just sayin.

          Heh yeah I agree… just looking at the counters now right here, you have 1300+ click throughs and only 47 pos+ - unfortunately that's just normal for the course. Who cares though - you should consider anything above 15 votes or so to be a worthwhile contribution :D
