Current Plan Finished on The Telstra 60GB for $65 and Looking for Something Cheaper

Hi ozbargainers,

I am currently on the Telstra 60GB for $65 but the plan has finished its 12 months contract. Now I am keeping the phone (BYO) and want to find a deal with around 60gb on the telstra network and is a 'bargain' compared to my current plan.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    Why Telstra? You've had the phone 12 months, should be able to get it unlocked for free, then can use cheap MVNOs, on Telstra networks too if you like Telstra.

      I was thinking of using the telstra carrier so I receive good reception, does not have to be specifically telstra. Yes, I am in the process of unlocking and not sure whether cancelling the plan will stop the service immediately or on a future date?

        You would port the number to new plan, as opposed to cancelling the current plan. This will retain number and the services.

    I moved from Telstra to Belong. Belongs Telstra wholesale network gives me noticably poorer coverage and speed

    I'm in a similar situation in a couple of months; I understand boost uses the Telstra retail network for 3 and 4g, where as the other mvnos use the wholesale network (which Is really only on par with Optus / voda)

      Wholesale Telstra is still way better than optus.
